Came here recently with my wife/kids. After seeing the pictures of the food I really really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately everything really fell very far below our expectations.
Cons: The self ordering system is really tedious and time consuming. It would be much easier/quicker if a waiter/waitress were to just take your order vs having your patrons service themselves by taking our own order.
THE WAIT was PRETTY BAD. We were the only dine-in patrons and we saw a few takeout orders come in after us (not sure if they ordered before us). But it took over 30 minutes for us to get our food (which is a bad look when you are the only dine-in patrons). When the food did start coming out, it was not all at once either. We ordered 1 dry ramen, 1 soup ramen, wings, and 1 kids ramen. The dry ramen came out first after about 15-20 minutes of waiting, then 5 minutes later the wings came out, then about 5 more minutes until the soup ramen came out, and then another 5-10 minutes for the kids ramen to come out. Seemingly the thing that is usually the quickest at most restaurants (the kids meal) was the last thing to come out. I have no idea why it took so long to essentially prepare a grilled chicken noodle soup. By the time we got the kids meal, we were almost done the rest of the food. The waitress apologized for the wait after each dish was brought to the table, but there was no reasoning given for why it was taking so long. I could tell even the people waiting for their takeout orders looked irritated as well.
THE FOOD was mediocre at best, bordering on just plain bad. I saw another review mention how the soup was flavorless and thought "maybe it was just them", but nope my wife's soup completely lacked all flavor and was VERY BLAND. Both her and I got our food with "Level 5" spice levels, and you could barely detect any level of spice in the food. If our food was level 5 spicy, then I wonder what like level 1-4 spicy is. Why offer spice levels if the food isn't spicy at all. I cannot emphasize enough though about how bland and devoid of flavor it all was. The shrimp in my dry noodles were cooked well, but one of the shrimp still had the tail attached. Normally this is something I don't care about, but given all of the other negatives I just feel that this speaks to the level of attention/care that they put into their food.
The Wings were honestly terrible. They advertise the one wing type as being "hot and honey" wings, but they are literally just wings tossed in buffalo sauce. Don't call your wings "hot and honey" when literally they are just wings tossed in buffalo sauce. If we knew they would just be regular ole buffalo wings, then we wouldn't have ordered them. On top of that the fries were very obviously frozen French fries, and were kind of stale and not good frozen fries at that.
Pros: The kids ramen was actually ok. It was probably the best of all of the food we got. I guess I would hope it was decent considering it took over 30 minutes to prepare. Unfortunately, my kids hated it, so at the end of the day it doesn't matter if I liked it.
The waitress was nice and overall had good manners. But good manners does not = good service.
I was debating between giving this place 1-2 stars and went with 1 star because I just could not find any redeeming quality about this place. We don't plan on...
Read moreI’m deeply disappointed. I’ve visited this restaurant many times and have always enjoyed the food, but after my recent experience, I won’t be returning.
I placed a pickup order through Uber Eats. My friend, who is recovering from shoulder surgery and wearing a cast, went in to retrieve it. Since they wouldn’t be able to use chopsticks, I followed to ask if they had a fork. My friend asked a staff member named Chris, who ignored her and moved on to the next customer. Thinking she might not have been heard, I stepped in to ask myself once he was free.
As soon as Chris saw me, he rolled his eyes and said, “How can I help you?” in a dismissive tone. Before I could finish my sentence, he interrupted me and said he had other customers and didn’t have time to help with that. I calmly reminded him that I was a customer, too. At that point, he raised his voice, moved closer to me, and pointed his finger in my face. (Again, he’s response was over me asking for a fork)
I asked for his manager’s contact information. That only seemed to escalate things. He said, “Oh, all you need is the manager’s number? Shoot, I’ll give it to you — go ahead and tell them everything because you’re slowing me down.” For the record, the restaurant was not busy at this time.
Ten minutes went by. Chris was casually chatting with other customers and no longer appeared busy. I asked again for the number. He replied, “Oh, you’re still here for that number? Shoot, I’ll give it to you.” He waved his phone in front of me, not holding it still enough to write it down. When I told him I couldn’t see it, he tore off a blank receipt and scribbled it down, repeating, “Go ahead and tell them everything.”
I called the manager, and to her credit, she was professional, understanding, and kind. I was hesitant to write this review due to her kindness however she also shared that this wasn’t the first time Chris had behaved this way — even toward her.
I know this is a family-owned business, and often in those environments, issues like this can be harder to address. But accountability is key — especially when one person’s behavior can affect the entire team and the customer experience.
I truly want this business to succeed. The food is excellent, and I’ve had many great experiences here in the past. But Chris is a liability. His behavior doesn’t just hurt the customer experience — it puts the entire reputation of the business at risk. I hope this is...
Read moreFirst time dining here at the suggestion of Yelp! Latifah greeted Mom and me as we entered and explained the ordering process by three ways: 1.) order by scanning the QR code at the table, 2.) at the kiosk, or 3.) right at the counter. Brother/Sister Business. Joseph is the owner and very courteous and professional. Cute atmosphere with clean lines and a modern feel. TVs with KPop Videos playing in the background.
I had already perused the Menu online and was thinking about the Lobster Fried Rice as a backup. I am well aware to avoid Ramen Places due to my adult onset severe mushroom allergy, so I was apprehensive (but at the same time, hopeful) that a substitution could be made to accommodate that - however unrealistic and unlikely that seemed at the time. I was delighted to know that mushrooms are not used anywhere in the restaurant. That immediately eased my anxiety.
The Lobster Garlic Dry Ramen hit the spot for me and spice level 2 was just right. It contained two lobster tails and three shrimps, a poached egg (just be aware this is an additional charge), had that chewy texture and familiar, tangy, fermented flavor, was perfectly spiced, and slightly salty. The combination of chili garlic oil, fried onions, and green onions kicked it up a notch and delivered a punch to the taste buds. I appreciated the balance, contrast, and depth of flavors in this particular dish; it was the star of the show and absolutely followed through on presentation and execution. Mom ordered the Dumpling Ramen spice level 2 and said it was flavorful from start to finish. We will certainly return to try other Menu items on our next visit. We were both wowed by the Ramen here and will add this to our list of...
