What a great park for multiple ages. I love that the veteran memorial is right next to it as well. The park is clean and maintained. The playground accommodates for all ages as well. The splash pad is great for hot summer mornings after playing on the playground. I will say, during the week mornings are best. On the weekend it gets so crowded and during school breaks it is very chaotic. If you are a young mom, grandparents, or dad wanting a quiet morning at the park with the kiddos, I recommend during the week early. There is plenty of shade for adults and kids. Parts of the playground (many parts are handicap accessible.) I like that there are two sets of swings: one set for bigger kiddos, and one for smaller. There is a toy racing station, music station, rock climbing wall, and lots of other fun things for the young mind to explore. Parking is a breeze with a big Parking lot. There is an emergency station right next to the park, so that made this mommy’s mind feel very safe and ready in case of emergency. It isn't on a busy road either, so it is quiet...
Read moreDo not bring your toddlers here!!! I was really disappointed in this park. While aesthetically, it is very pleasing, the toddler/younger kids side is not only impractical, it is really dangerous.
You can tell the architect who designed it didn't put any thought into safety at all. From the dangerous metal rolling contraption that I still don't get, the metal rocking horses, to the oddly shaped and random step ups, to the metal slide that I thought was outlawed back in the 80's due to burn risks, but hey, at least there's a caution sign for kids who can't read yet. You, too, will be left wondering how many injuries a day there are here and regretting not having your toddler wearing a helmet with knee & elbow pads. Although, riding an actual bike would still be far safer than coming here.
Ironically, I was injured on one of those oddly shaped and oddly placed step ups at the top of one of the slides, while trying to keep toddler from hitting his head, guess I too should have been wearing my...
Read moreOne of our favorite parks. There are two sides to the park, 14 smaller toddler children and the other for larger children. There is a singular entrance to both parks which allows security to be really good. As long as you're standing close to the entrance none of your kids are going to randomly walk out of the park and disappear.
This park is very crowded most of the time with lots of families and the police force is a frequent visit to check things there is a large gathering here for pokémon Go events so prepare for that if large gatherings bother you.
On top of the park area there is a wonderful field for kites and just hanging out, a nice pavilion with a place to sit and chat, and a small pond with seating areas and other things. People are often fishing and the nature trail around the park and through the forest isn't super long but...
