We had a reservation for 20, but it ended up being a little less, so they put us in a back secluded area. What we soon realized, was this was literally everyone's shortcut to the kitchen and restroom from the patio. With this in mind, we got sneers, eye rolls and just an off putting feeling from everyone, mostly the staff. As we entered that area, we were hit by a smell that can only be described as dirty, greasy mop water and the floors were visibly damp in spots. The service was efficient and quick, no real hiccups, delays or fumbles. The way they had our table set up just made it hard to pass out items and refill drinks. We did notice our servers family sitting close to our section, not sure what was said, but from the look she gave us, it wasn't pleasant. The food, did not live up to the hype unfortunately. The roasted artichoke came out without the sauce, just an empty ramekin. The flavor was not the best, and it was not roasted long enough, as it was still stringy and tough. The humus platter seemed like something they grabbed from Kroger and dropped some roasted pine nuts in for garnish. I got the Steak and Eggs, which was not worth the price tag. The cut was thin, overcooked and under seasoned. The eggs were poached well, but lack any seasoning. The sweet potato hash in the plate was a saving grace. My wife had the Heirlooms and Eggs, which was good and plated well. My son had a the Bourbon French Toast which was great, the side of bacon was crispy and good, but the side of scrambled eggs were bland, not seasoned. It was my mother in law's 70th birthday and no one on staff made it a special occasion. I will say the $3 mimosa is what you'd expect from a $3 mimosa, so no complaints there. Overall, wouldn't make a return trip here, but the manager did seem friendly in our brief interaction. Lastly, I know it's for ambiance, but can you please bring up the lights in the bathroom entrance and bathroom....
Read moreI've been here 3 times in the last 3 months. The first visit was great, which is why I went back and brought different people with me. The second visit was for Sunday Brunch. It took more than 10 minutes to get a server to show up at our table. The waitress only appeared after we alerted the manager. And, it ended ip being the waitress serving the table next to us, who had stopped at that table two times while we waited. The food was also not as good on this visit. Because of the poor performance all around, I wasn't planning to return after this visit but I happened to be in the area on Saturday for lunch and decided to try again. While the food was much better, more like the first visit, the service was almost identical to the second visit. I had to approach the manager to ask who our server was. Once the server appeared, we gave him our full order. And then he never came back to our table. So, that prompted a second visit to the manager to ask for our check. The waiter returned with our check and did not apologize for his lack of service. I gave a 5% tip and left the rest of his tip as a tip on the check: Enjoyed the food but did not enjoy the service. I know working in the restaurant industry is tough but on all occasions, I was part of 2-4 people party and an easy table to serve (no kids, no special requests). When I look back on the two visits with bad service, it made me wonder if the wait staff enjoys working there. No one seemed particularly happy, definitely not these 2 servers. Neither of them smiled, and not that I need them to be bubbly, but being welcoming to customers is part of the job. I find it hard to support a place with good food if the wait staff isn't pulling their weight too. I hope the situation improves for...
Read moreCame here with family and requested a specific server this weekend. I had made the reservation online then called once they opened to make sure we were sat in that servers section. The manager asked how many people we had and i let her know we had 5. She said the server we were requesting didn’t have a table big enough in their section to accommodate us. I then asked if they could push tables together as they have done LOTS of times in the past. She said on a weekend night they are “FAR too busy” and need that extra table. I then asked if we could sit at a larger table near by the section and he swap that table for one of his with another server just while we were there. The manager said they would see what they could do. Really didn’t think it’d be a problem as they have ALWAYS made accommodations if someone requests a specific server in the past, just like ANY other GOOD restaurant. We get there, and the managers solution was to sit the 5 of us (2 being children- one of them is 3 years old) at a HIGH top table that only sits 4 people. When we got there, the restaurant was probably about 60% empty. What about that “busy Friday night” huh? We sit down and there sat a 6 top table 2 feet away from us EMPTY for TWO HOURS while we dined there. Not one suggestion from the manager of “hey our restaurant is dead, and theres plenty of larger open tables let’s move you”. Nope, she just let us sit 5 people at a high top with a 3 year old. Their new GM Lauren is destroying this restaurant and treats her staff HORRIBLY. We won’t be back until she’s gone. It’s no wonder this place is far less busy than they used to be. They are losing regulars left and right. Picture attached of the table that sat empty our...
