Update: I returned to Croix Bakehouse for what I thought would be a simple almond croissant. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t simple, and I wasn’t ready. From the first bite, I was transported. The outside had that perfect, delicate crisp that gives way with the most satisfying crackle. But it’s what was inside that caught me completely off guard—flaky layers soaked in a syrupy richness that can only be described as the sweat of a Greek god or goddess. Sweet, strong, and powerful. Every bite was packed with depth, flavor. Much respect given to the genius in the back. I think I'll be rushing to update my post after every visit.

Croix Bakehouse is the kind of spot you want to see thrive. This quaint café just opened on March 5th, 2025, and it already feels like a hidden gem in the heart of Frisco. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, with an elegant display of pastries that look like they belong in a Parisian bakery.
I tried the Pastrami Bear Claw, and it was absolutely divine. The pastry was golden, flaky, and filled with layers of savory pastrami, sharp white cheddar, and just the right amount of sauerkraut to bring it all together. It’s a bold flavor profile—but executed with so much finesse that it works beautifully.
The pastry case alone is a work of art. Everything from the classic croissants to their more adventurous creations is presented with care. You can tell this team values both quality and creativity.
If you’re looking to support a phenomenal local business that’s doing things right from day one—this is it. Croix Bakehouse is officially a new #HayiaSophiaFave.

Read moreA fantastic Bakery! We were able to try their Almond Croissants, Pain Suisse, and Sourdough bread. I can say with certainty that these baked goods are world class.
The almond croissants and Pain Suisse were delectably flaky. The almond croissants were topped with toasted almonds and a light dusting of powdered sugar. Upon opening the croissant, I was greeted with a buttery almond filling that was lightly sweetened. The flavors of the fresh croissant and the almond filling amounted to the best almond croissant I have ever eaten.
The quality continued with the Pain Suisse. To borrow from the venerable Joey Tribbiani, “Croissant; good. Créme Patisserie; good. Chocolaté; good.” Another decadent treat that was again, pleasantly balanced with no single ingredient dominating the others, while somehow managing not to taste overtly sweet.
The sourdough boule was wonderfully crusty; had nice notes of sour-ness from the fermentation process; and had a deliciously moist interior.
We will absolutely be back. Though, next time, we will need to get up extra early because several items were already sold out; for...
Read moreWe just left their new location. They used to be at Frisco’s farmers market and they went missing for some time and I’m SO glad to see them have their own place!
Literally everything we ate here was delicious! We got the ham and cheese croissant, pastrami bear claw, one of the sandwiches, chocolate chip cookie and almond croissant.
Chocolate chip cookie- it has a slight outer crisp, then as you bite into it, it’s soft, full of chocolate chips, dense. Gosh, it’s perfect. My favorite chocolate chip cookie in DFW.
Almond croissant- it is my favorite almond croissant. The texture of the croissant is perfectly flaky, the almond filling is not overly sweet or overwhelming. perfect
The pesto on the sandwich is yummy and the focaccia is light- so yummy!
My daughter who is pretty picky loved the ham and cheese croissant and pastrami bear claw.
Do yourself a favor and Go! highly recommend this place! I wish I took pictures for you.
We also bought 3 cheddar and jalapeño...
