1st timer and this place is awesome! Atmosphere was nice and clean, music level wasn’t too bad, staff was very helpful and friendly!! I ordered 3 tacos to try out. I got the rotisserie chicken- too much queso blanco and salsa, the balance was off and made my taco too wet as well as all of the chicken wasn’t shredded and I had chunks of chicken. 7/10. I tried the slow roasted angus brisket taco and it was perfect. 10/10. Lastly I also tried the grilled salmon taco which was off balanced (to me) because the salmon seemed to be cooked medium (which is fine) which is a little juicy for salmon but then over powered by seasoning. Entirely too much seasoning, I could enjoy the taco. 6/10. I also ordered the trio Guac, Salsa & queso and their version of Mexican street corn know as “Elote”. The Elote was very spicy and tasted better as a “dip” vs a side by itself. 7/10. The trio was good even though I was not a fan of the salsa. Overall my experience and food a Velvet Taco was great and I Thank you! I will be back.

We tried it as few days after it opened, and the menu is small but works. We ordered the chips and dips platter which comes with 3 different dips. We got the pineapple guacamole, not my absolute favorite, but tastes different and is good. The curry queso was very tasty and not too spicy as well. The corn elote was the highlight of the three, and was over so fast. We ordered the tofu taco and another vegetarian one. Both were good, but the breading that coated the tofu, didn’t stick to it, so the tofu fell out of its breading. The taco itself tasted good, and I added some hot sauce they had which was very good as well. The only negative thing about this restaurant is that how little space there is to sit, if you want to dine in there’s not enough space. There were not enough vegetarian options in the taco parts of the menu. I will surely return here for their amazing dips.

Velvet Taco, a new store on US-380, is a promising addition to the taco scene. During the soft opening, customers were offered two complimentary tacos and a drink, which is a nice gesture for a new store to introduce themselves to the community. One notable thing about the tacos is their uniqueness and fusion style. While this may appeal to some customers, it may not be authentic enough for traditional taco fans. However, for those who are looking for something different, Velvet Taco may be just the place for them. It's important to note that while the tacos are not entirely authentic, they are still very tasty. The complimentary tacos and drink were a great way to try them out, and the store's atmosphere was welcoming and inviting. Overall, Velvet Taco seems to be a promising addition to the taco scene, and it's worth a try if you're looking for something different.

Feel that breeze? That is me fetching the deepest sigh I can muster over yet another overpriced, over hyped hipster taco place.

My dear wife has been wanting to try this place since it opened, so we finally brought her for Mother's Day and it was a total mess. I want to tell you about it, dear internet, but I'm not even sure where to start.

It was rainy when we came, so I thought it strange that the patio was so popular. It was full. When we walked in, there were 6 open tables and 2 occupied ones. I'm guessing everyone went outside because the inside was dirty and messy and gross.

I wiped off a table for my family while the wife went and ordered. 4 tacos ($20, buster.), kid's chicken & tots and 1 elote appetizer and the red velvet cake.

Now, name a thing that can go wrong at a restaurant... Whatever you just said, that's what happened to us.

Actually, the tacos didn't take that long, considering how busy it was. But the kid chicken took quite a bit longer and required a few trips to the counter to remind them. And the elote came after even more trips to the counter. And on one of those trips, it was revealed that another customer, who had been waiting since we got there... The workers has deleted her order. She would have kept waitin till the end of time, I reckon. Would have been an old dry husk of a woman, still waiting for her order that never showed.

The tacos were meh. I got a couple of breakfast tacos because they sounded good on the menu but ended up being dry and bland. My wife got the Cuban Pig, which was actually pretty good. Super duper salty, but that was nice.

The kid's chicken was a tiny bit spicy. Not bad, but my kid hates spicy food and was really sad about it.

The place was filthy. The kitchen was clearly too busy to send anyone out to sweep or mop. It was chaos back there. Training is ongoing, I suppose, this place has been here long enough for this bunch to know how to handle a dinner rush. The people calling orders didn't have their hair secured, either and they kept almost little dragging their hair right across customers' tacos.

Until they get their act together... Avoid this expensive...

Velvet Taco has always been known for its creativity and bold flavors, and their new lineup of bowls takes that reputation to the next level. I had the opportunity to try the three featured options—Brisket, Buffalo Chicken, and Mexicali—and let me tell you, these are not just bowls; they are flavor-packed masterpieces.

Visually, these bowls are stunning. Each one is a vibrant work of art, layered with fresh, colorful ingredients that immediately grab your attention. But the real magic happens when you take that first bite. The flavors are nothing short of explosive, hitting your palate with perfectly balanced spices, textures, and richness.

The Brisket Bowl is smoky, tender, and deeply satisfying, while the Buffalo Chicken Bowl delivers a tangy, spicy punch that’s perfectly complemented by its creamy and crisp toppings. The Mexicali Bowl is a fiesta in every bite, blending zesty, fresh ingredients with just the right amount of heat. Each bowl feels thoughtfully crafted, ensuring every flavor shines while harmonizing with the rest.

Velvet Taco’s innovation with this new menu is something to truly appreciate. They’ve managed to elevate the concept of a bowl to something extraordinary, leaving competitors like Chipotle far behind. After experiencing these, there’s no reason to go back to the ordinary.

If you haven’t already, mark your calendar and get to Velvet Taco as soon as these bowls hit the menu. They’re an absolute must-try, and I can’t wait to see what other delicious surprises they’ll...
