I know the place recently opened but recently opening is only a reason for mistakes, which while I was standing there to order, with no rush late at night, 3 separate people were having problems with their orders. For my order they charged for 4 hashbrowns and they thought that meant four sticks of hashbrown (in other words, one order) counted as 4 hashbrowns. But they fixed that.
No the problem that I am writing about was the 4, yes 4 employees standing in arms reach of me on the customer side of the counter with their faces down in their phones while I waited for the length of a song for someone to come to the counter for me to tell them about the problem with my order.
All 4 aloof young men knew I was standing there, knew no one was coming to the counter, (likely) knew that the person who should be there just hadn’t seen me, and not only never spoke to me but never even went to get someone for me.
I eventually asked one of the guys, who looked up from his phone with a dumbfounded look on his face like “why are you talking to me, I don’t know you”, and I asked him to go get someone. He did and immediately someone was there. Meaning that about 4 minutes of waiting would have been avoided if any 1 of the FOUR had taken any responsibility for what their job is.
This is extremely clearly a rot at the top of this location. It won’t get better because they hire mostly aloof workers, I guess hoping to give them a chance at honest work. Fire them. I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at your Whataburger. I have always held Whataburger in high regard—growing up, it was a staple in my life, a place where I shared great memories with friends. Until now, I have never had an issue with your restaurants, which makes this experience all the more frustrating.
During my recent visit, I interacted with two different employees while placing my order, yet both seemed confused and inattentive. My request was simple: a #3 with cheese, no tomatoes or onions, a large fry, and a medium root beer with light ice. Despite stating my preferences clearly multiple times, I was repeatedly asked about my drink size and ice preference, leading to unnecessary confusion and delays.
Beyond the miscommunication, the staff seemed distracted and disengaged rather than focused on ensuring accurate and attentive service. This is not the level of professionalism or customer care I have come to expect from Whataburger, and it raises concerns about training and attention to detail at this location.
I sincerely hope that management addresses these issues by reinforcing staff training and prioritizing customer satisfaction. Whataburger has always been a place I enjoy visiting, and I would love to continue supporting it without the frustration I experienced during my recent visit.

Wait Time: I waited between 15–18 minutes for my order. By the time I left, there were about eight cars parked and waiting for food.
Food Delivery: When the food was finally brought out, it appeared that all waiting customers received their bags at the same time. I live only about 1.5 miles away, but when my family and I sat down to eat—within about 4.5 minutes—all of our food was cold. The fries were cold, and this was for a $30 order that included two junior burgers.
Past Experiences: This has happened to me at least four times at this location. I initially excused it as part of being a new restaurant in the area, but this pattern has continued.
