True Texas BBQ — Restaurant in Frisco

My husband and I had a very disappointing experience at the drive-thru last night with Noah, an employee. When he pulled up to the speaker to place our order, we initially heard someone reading off the menu, then it dropped into a bunch of background noise. My husband said "hello" multiple times but got no response, just noise, then silence.

After sitting for a minute, we drove up to the window, only to find Noah taking the order of the car that had been behind us. When he finished, he looked at my husband and angrily said, “You need to go back to that speaker and order your food!” speaking to him in a tone that was completely disrespectful, condescending and unnecessary.

Even when my husband calmly explained that we tried to order and there was no response, the worker remained argumentative. It wasn’t until my husband repeatedly apologized, taking the blame for something that wasn’t our fault, that the employee finally changed his attitude. I called afterward to speak with a manager. A staff member named Katie answered and said their manager, Michael, wasn’t there at the moment.

I sincerely hope Michael would not approve of how we were treated. We understand fast food service is high pressure and mistakes happen, but being spoken to in such a condescending and unprofessional way was completely uncalled for. We hope this is addressed with the...

I love H‑E‑B! I shop there often and when this new location opened close to me it was all good! However today I had some time and decided to try the BBQ restaurant there. You order at a kiosk and they text or call your name when it’s ready. Ordered the two meat plate, brisket and sausage, brisket beans, twisted fries. 16.99. It looked beautiful but looks were deceiving, brisket was tender but the bark had a highly bitter smoke taste. The sausage was awful! Too hard of a texture and because of that, I broke two of the plastic knives they provide you with. Tasted like Oscar Meyer Bologna. No smoke taste at all. Beans were canned pintos with the cornstarch thickening agent and a few pieces of brisket thrown in. The fries were cooked from preseasoned frozen potatoes Apparently nothing is prepared from scratch. Finally they provide you with a premade container of Sweet BBQ sauce. It was worse than Masterpiece BBQ sauce and that’s terrible. I would think that H‑E‑B who is known for producing good food items from both their stores and Central Markets would serve such terrible products. I ordered delivery through the app they recommend on their website. Delivery itself was fine, but the food was disappointing overall. Several items were missing, and what did arrive felt like leftovers.

The beans I ordered were mostly liquid with very few actual beans. The peach cobbler was overcooked and dry with just a couple of peach slices mixed in. I never even received the banana pudding I paid for.

The meats were fine, nothing to rave about, and the potato salad was good if you like mustard-based recipes. I personally enjoyed it, but it’s definitely not for everyone.

Between the missing items and the mediocre quality, this just wasn’t worth the price. I probably won’t be ordering from True Texas...
