This place earned NEGATIVE STARS! I cannot be more adamant in NON-RECOMMENDATION of this place. I went with 3 friends and sat on the patio. The patio was nice. I arrived at 10 minutes to 6:00pm and we discovered that happy hour ended at 6:00. So we each ordered two margaritas at happy hour prices. The waitress came back and said she couldn't order our second drinks until we had finished at least 1/2 of the first. So, three of us drank our drinks halfway and ordered another round within a couple of minutes before 6:00 to get happy hour prices. (BTW, drinking half that quickly was pretty easy because they use those great big rimmed margarita glasses but if you look closely, the are shallow.). The waitress took our orders for drinks, left and then came back to ask questions about them even though they were the same drinks she just served. I knew she hadn't gotten the order in on time but figured she would know they were ordered before happy hour ended so we were good. Not the case. One of my friend's meals was missing ingredients- she thought it was missing something but we didn't figure out what was missing until she was almost through. She asked the waitress why her meal was missing ingredients and the girl did offer to bring them out separately but it was really too late. My friend said knock a dollar off the price, we'll call it even. Fair since the meal was $20. The waitress came back and said she couldn't do that; so, we asked for the manager. We got our bills before he managed to drag his sorry self to our table and Our bills were very confusing. WE ALL HAD DIFFERENT PRICES FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF DRINKS! The manager insisted that all the happy hour drinks were put on one check but when I brought to his attention that the math didn't add up he said I'll be back. He proceeded to bring out pictures from his security cameras "showing we didn't order the drinks in time." He's giving me BS about our drinks were still full pointing to one that was completely empty. Just pure lip action. Now all we were asking was that $3 dollars be taken off each bill and that the math for the $3.50 margaritas added up. We spent over $200 between the four of us. He could've taken $12 off the bill, still made a lot of money on our table and everyone would've walked away happy but no-he proceeded to be rude, argumentative and nasty. He wouldn't stop talking to allow me to talk and I over spoke him and said are you going to listen to what I have to say? He said I already answered your question. I said, how could you when you have no idea what I'm about to say because I don't even have a question. End result: two of us got to go orders that were f'd up totally and I was sure to put my $81 bill on Amex - which I called and cancelled ALL the charges on the bill. All of my friends mentioned (as in other reviews) that the prices were way higher than other Salsa's locations. This is a brand new restaurant, you'd think they'd be trying harder to make a good impression and retain customers especially go on the COVID situation. I WILL NEVER RETURN AND IM POSTING TO THIA WVWEY RECIEW SITE I CAN FIND. Shameful...
Read moreYou know, I’m not usually inclined to leave reviews, but as someone who works in the restaurant industry, I have to say something about my experience today. My boyfriend and I met here after work around 5pm. We walked in, we were greeted and taken to our table right away. Looking around, it wasn’t very busy. Some tables outside, a few tables in the front and on the other side, nowhere near packed or even that busy. We sat down, we were given chips and salsa, and we patiently waited for someone to come by. There was a girl who kept walking around us, checking on tables around us, but wouldn’t even look at us. We sat there for almost 10 minutes waiting for someone to even say “hey, your server will be right with you”, but that never happened. The same girl who had tables around us checked on her table right in front of us a total of 3 times in the almost 10 minutes we were sitting there. There were tons of severs/employees walking by as well. At one point my boyfriend looked over to the host stand and noticed 3 employees looking at us, pointing, but not once did anyone come and say a single word or even acknowledge that we were there. I work in a fast paced restaurant myself, and we are held to the standard of a 30 second greet time, and now I can understand that’s not always possible, it’s what we strive for. There are times when I see patrons waiting in my own restaurant, tables out of my section, I stop by for my fellow coworker and at least get their drinks started and let them know that there server would be there shortly. As I said before, it wasn’t busy, and there were at least 4 different employees walking by and around us, and then we noticed 3 employees at the host stand looking at us, talking and pointing in our direction, but taking no initiative to say anything to us. We didn’t stay much longer after we saw that. I’m not sure what happened or why, but all I can say is there is such a thing as team work. If you see customers waiting for more then 5 minutes with no drinks, looking around for their server- even if it’s not your table or your turn for a table, you still work there. Take action, help your teammate out. Please don’t treat your customers as if they are invisible, it’s disappointing. Like I said, we usually eat here once or twice a month, but I’m really not sure if or when we will be back. We actually decided to go to La Catrina tacos and tequila bar, who was far busier, and we were greeted by our server before we...
Read moreSalsas had always been my restaurant to go when I was hungry for some comfort Mexican food. The place is well located, the food is tasty and the atmosphere of the place is really nice. Lately, they have been dropping the ball on service - royally. I went Friday and sat outside. The weather was inviting and, after a week of hard work, communing with nature and eating al fresco seemed a good and relaxing idea to me. The waitress who served me showed up after a real long time after I was offered the table. It went all downhill from there. Her lack of connection with me, her short answers, her fake smile and the automatic responses made the whole experience shallow and unpleasant. I returned Sunday evening for some wings to see if things had changed. This time I sat at the bar. It was packed. I was found the last spot available at the bar. Again, the disappointment was real! 😔 The bar tender offered a menu for everyone, but not me. Luckily, I knew what I wanted and still tried to hang in there not to let that bring me down. Then, I had to repeat the word juice three times! Either the bartender did not care nor she could listen. I ordered wings. I thought they were hatching the eggs to raise the chicken. Yes, it took that long again. I ordered juice and when the wings arrived, the juice was already gone. I asked for water since the bartender did not even check for my glass. I paid the bill and in both cases the tip reflected the service I got. Unfortunately, people overlook service after they get a returning clientele who become loyal to the place they like to dine in. Looks like Salsas is experiencing the same thing. I will have to shop for a New Mexican food place. This one is leaving me with a sour taste every time I visit. Best of luck trying to get the quality of service they once had back. I wish them...
