First experience with this restaurant, as I have seen really positive reviews goes as follows; 8:30am placed call to order 3 family meals. We don't eat pork and was informed that we could not substitute turkey bacon for the bacon that comes with the order. The girl taking the order, was nice and placed me on a hold so she could speak to a manager to find out if they could make an exception. This turned out not to be possible because of "corporate" reasons. Fine, I'm not a complainer. I had to order 10 sides of turkey bacon, no problem. She said it's a big order, give them about 45 minutes. I arrive at 9:08am to pick up. Cashiers at the back pick up are at a loss to locate my order. Turn out, the nice girl did not place the order with the back. I was given 2 options; place my order now and wait 20min or leave. Very hospitable. I request a manager and who I assume was a manager listened to the story, apologized, and immediately reinforced my only 2 options. Not happy but hungry so whatever please bring my food. 9:30am a manager comes to apologize and tell me that they are going to take care of me. I'm happy now because atleast someone is taking my business seriously. I tell her about my bacon conundrum and she resolves it instantaneously. Review almost averted. 10:20am still sitting in the restaurant and no word from anyone. Cool manager walks past and I ask her if she can find out what's going on. She looks sympathetic and agrees. She doesn't come back to update. 10:28am I go to the cashier desk and ask for am update. Girl apologizes, repeats my name and information me that my order is on the line and it should only be about 25 more minutes. It is now 10:40am and I still have not received my food. I am reserving hope that the order will be correct when it comes. As a consumer, and a business owner, I cannot find where I, as the consumer, is being unreasonable. This is my first and last time with this establishment as I'm just a visitor, but if this place falls on your radar be warned. Update 10:45 I got my food and was taken care of but now I have house full of hungry people who have been waiting 2hrs i have to face....
Read moreHeard so many great things about this spot so I decided to try out their Fullerton location. I was surprised at how busy it was on Friday around 11am. It's highly recommended to join their Yelp Waitlist and check in with the hostess right away once you arrive so they don't remove you off the waitlist. The wait wasn't too long, probably 15-20 minutes when I went because we utilized the Yelp Waitlist function. They have a wide variety of items to order on their menu so I would also suggest looking at the menu beforehand. Their benedicts, skillets and french toast seem to be one of their popular items and I did see a lot of people ordering their mimosa flights so I'll have to try that on my next visit. Service was pretty good as our server, Sam, came to check up on us regularly to refill our waters and to make sure we were taken care of. I definitely want to come back and try out their other popular menu items during my next visit.

|| F O O D || Meat Lovers Omelette ($17.95) - They aren't joking when they say this is a meat lover's omelette! As soon as I cut into my omelette, bacon, sausage, and ham just poured out, which made me a very happy girl. What I also thought was unique was that one of their side selections includes a blueberry muffin! That was actually what won me over as I was originally going to order one of their benedicts. I do like pancakes or toast, but sometimes that's a little too heavy for me. The warmed up muffin was really the cherry on top for me. The other side I chose were the hash browns and boy, these were super crispy. I did like how it wasn't...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I absolutely adore their Benedict selection—those eggs are like little pockets of happiness. However, my recent experience at their Fullerton location left me shell-shocked and chuckling at the same time.
We strolled in around a little after 7 a.m., ready to fill our bellies with yolky goodness. The restaurant was as empty as a desert ghost town, so we thought we hit the breakfast jackpot. But oh boy, were we wrong!
We eagerly approached the hostess, hoping to secure a table and dive into an eggy feast. Instead, we were greeted with a waiting time of 10 whole minutes. Now, I understand that patience is a virtue, but when you're faced with an empty restaurant, it's like waiting for a punchline that never comes.
To make matters even more hilarious, our encounter with the waitress deserves its own comedy sketch. With a pinch of sass and a dash of rudeness, she informed us that the cafe wasn't open yet. Hold on a minute, lady! There were people sitting and munching away on their breakfast right in front of our eyes! I couldn't help but picture an invisible force field separating the "open" and "closed" sections of the cafe.
At that moment, the irony struck me like a bolt of lightning. Across the street, shining like a beacon of breakfast hope, was the majestic iHOP. It was as if the universe was saying, "Hey, if you want a hassle-free breakfast, head on over there!" The comedic timing couldn't have been more perfect.
Despite our misadventures, I must admit that The Broken Yolk Cafe still holds a special place in my heart. Their Benedict selection is worth the trouble, even if you have to navigate through a maze of mixed signals and comedic misunderstandings to get to it. Disclaimer: No eggs were harmed in the making of...
