I recently ordered a large catering tray of beef for $150... First thing, when you go into the restaurant, it states on their menu that a beef tray costs $139.99 + tax and that it will serve 45 - 50 people which seemed logical after seeing the size of a large tray the previous day. When I received and opened my tray, i was confused. First because I had a tray of not just beef, but beef with veggies on the bottom!!! I immediately called the restaurant and spoke to a man who stated they put veggies on the bottom to keep the pan from getting hot. I told him that when I ordered, it does not say it comes with veggies, I explained to him that there would have been more room for more beef. He then explained that they provide the same amount of beef regardless. He said that I was paying for a set weight of meat, which again does not tell you anything like that on their menu. They expect their customers to assume these things, this is false advertising!!! I told the man I was disappointed, all he had to say was "OK". I say this is a poor example of customer service and total disregard and disrespect toward...
Read moreCame here a couple of times because I work nearby. The food here is good, but it isn't the best Hawaiian food around. The kitchen staff and the establishment itself is quite small, so don't expect to get your food in time so try calling ahead or expect a wait.
Seating here is also extremely limited so make sure you can grab a seat in time. There is a couple of options for outdoor seating around the space near the restaurant.
I've came here a bunch of times enough to know the food here is good, but not excellent. I usually get the Chicken Combo which comes with Chicken Katsu, BBQ Chicken, Macoroni Salad, and some vegetables. Its perfect sometimes, but sometimes its either the Katsu or BBQ Chicken that may be disappointing. Sometimes when I am just looking for a snack, i grab a Spam Masubi and Macoroni Salad which never disappoints.
Customer Service here is also hit or miss. I've had okay experiences, and good...
Read moreAfter taking my pup to Banfield, we went exploring in this shopping strip and found Maui Hawaiian BBQ. Thought we'd give it a try and ordered the chicken katsu combo. For this first visit, the chicken was moist with a light crispy breading, and not greasy showing the correct Hawaiian way and Japanese influences. Mind you it wasn't just cabbage bedding but a mixture with carrots, the traditional way!! The macaroni was just right with the 2 scoops of rice that was the way it should be. In comparison to my former favorite,"One BBq" thg his restaurant out performs", I read the other reviews and find it fascinating, for my review it was top of my list of authentic Hawaiian fusion that reminds me of Mayi!!! Mahalo, and great job... this is kamaina ...
