Attitude from Cashier
Stopped by today to buy 6 fish tacos. I frequent this spot 1-2 times a week since finding it about 2 months ago and would usually spend $20+ every visit. Upon ordering my food to go, I saw small containers to the left of the cashier. I got one for the lemons and yellow chili peppers, but before being able to gather them the cashier looked over at me and rudely asked what I was doing. To which I nicely replied I got a small box for lemons and chili peppers. She then walked over with an attitude to give me a small bag and said to use those bags instead and if I got too much she'd charge me. I didn't appreciate being scolded like that in front of other paying customers. Especially not over a .15 cent plastic box and because in these last two months I've spent at least $250 at Ensenadas. The fact she insinuated I was going to use the box to load up really irritated me. Thus here I am. For the 6 tacos I got 4 lemons and 2 chilis, hope that wasn't too much (sarcasm). The cashier (receipt has Rossy on it so that might be her name) never seems happy to be at work, every time I've been in she just so blahhh. If people don't like their job, they should quit and find another job where they can be happy. Also, if the establishment doesn't want the customer to use a box then don't leave it where it can be reached. What's worse is I've actually walked up to the pick up area in the past and asked for a small box because we had dined in and had leftovers. To which the lady (don't know her name either but she's short n she never smiles either, always has a frown) replied the boxes are over there go ahead and get it. She pointed to the same boxes I just got scolded for using. So, I know they are for customers to grab. The reason I wanted to use the box instead of the bag is because the bags make a mess. They don't open wide enough for you to be able to put the chili pepper or lemons in easily. So it ends up all over your hands and makes a mess when it rolls around in your bag of food. Hope this review gets read by a decision maker who can go over employee/customer etiquette with their employees. I'd hate for them to lose more business due to lack luster customer service, as the food is actually pretty good. Customers can always find a new spot to eat, especially if they feel like their business will be better appreciated.
Don't put up with sub-par customer service.
Lastly the fish tacos and meat tacos are good, I've had way better ceviche though. Search up Mariscos El Crudologo,...
Read moreSince Pedro's in Fullerton closed I've been seeking a place for great fish tacos and this place is it. They treat their fish with expertise and precision and the flavor and texture of the food really shows that off. The staff is friendly and polite and the facility is clean. The only gripe I have with them is that none of them answer the phone anymore. About six months ago I was on my way there from work-- about a half hour drive-- and tried to call them to place an order so I could pick up. Someone answered the phone after the 4th ring, asked if he could put me on hold, and then never took me off hold. I arrived there still on hold and brought it to the staff's attention. They apologized, took my order, got me my food in a reasonable amount of time, and that was that. Since then I've tried to call ahead maybe two dozen times, and that first time was the only time they ever picked up the phone. It's not like they take forever making the food so ordering at the counter is a fine alternative.
Addendum, 2/23/22: food is still delicious. Again we made the mistake of trying to call ahead, and this time they just hung up on us after a four minute hold. When we walked in and asked them about why they did that, they literally said "we give priority to the people that are already here." Y'all could just solve the problem by not picking up the phone in the first place, or better yet, follow my suggestion and remove your phone number from the listing. Don't want to take phone orders? Stop having a phone, simple solution. Seriously though, this food is...
Read moreUpdate after going here about once a week for the past year I went in yesterday and ordered a burrito and asked for white sauce on it and on the side. Just like always. Yesterday they argued putting it on the burrito.. they ‘don’t do that’ but would ‘do it this one time’ We asked also for two on the side, good thing, there was none in the burrito. The side of sauce they gave us was half full and messy leaking sauce all over the bag. Side note, I offered to pay and they said no. It’s sour cream, really you can’t do that? The burrito had nothing but dry meat and a spoon full of rice but was soaking wet and fell apart when opening it at home. $15 for a nasty burrito not made correctly and attitude from the cashier. Won’t be back
Went here for the first time last week after living in the neighborhood and driving by for almost two years. I’m kicking myself for not going sooner! The fish tacos were the best I’ve had in a looong time! My son got the shredded pork burrito and it was HUGE, moist and flavorful. All the ingredients were very fresh and tasty Going back tonight for more tacos and to try a few other items. The only downfall is the parking and access can get really busy at meal times, but trust me, the...
