I ordered 3 items togo off of their menu. $30.36 total of food including Thai Tea and Milk Tea with Pudding.
I ordered their #58 off of the menu which was pretty good. It had really good and flavorful steak cut up and was cooked with a nice garlic flavor and aroma. The downfall on this item is that they barely put any beef into the meal. It wasnt really worth $8.99, but more like $7.50.
I ordered the Well Done Beef Brisket Pho. It was the worst Pho that I have ever had!!!! The Beef was beyond spoiled!!!! The smell made me feel like gagging and wanted to throw up!!! I had to throw away all of the spoiled meat away.
The bean sprouts were already old and turning brown. They were not fresh at all. The basil and the jalapeño were fresh though. The soup broth was ok.
The cooks really dont care about serving fresh and healthy food to their customers. This was absolutely the worst Pho Experience Ever!!!!!! This item was $7.75.
The serving size was about the same size, but it had 7 and 1/3 pieces of shrimp in the togo box. The usual amount of shrimp is 8 pieces per order, just saying. They think nobody knows about things like this.
The togo box was way bigger than the amount of food. Other places that I order the same item off of the menu serves a lot more than they do and its usually about a third more of what they serve here.
Well, the item was lacking the authentic and delicious Vietnamese flavors!!! It tasted really plain and lacked excitement!!! I was waiting for that great flavor burst, but it was like lighting a fire cracker and it was only a dud!!! No explosion at all.
Their Thai Tea Boba is Great!!!
The Milk Tea w/Pudding is pretty good too.
Note: (Both of the drinks were Buy One & Get One Free for $3.95 Thats a Great Deal!!
Note: They charge extra for fish sauce!!! All of the Vietnamese restuarants that I have been to have fish sauce as a complimentary item to add to your meal and at your convenience. This restuarant fails to satisfy their customers needs and make you purchase fish sauce at an additional cost, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU SPEND!!! THIS IS JUST WRONG AND THIS IS NOT HOW YOU GET CUSTOMERS.
ON TOP OF THAT!!! THE FISH SAUCE REALLY SUCKED THIS TIME AND DID NOT HAVE THAT AUTHENTIC FLAVOR!!!
I HOPE THE OWNERS WILL LEARN TO PROVIDE ITEMS LIKE FISH SAUCE AND LET THEIR CUSTOMERS ENJOY THE FOOD WITH COMPLIMENTARY ITEMS, AFTER ALL, THEY ARE SUPPORTING...
Read moreI'll start by saying that service at this place has always been pretty bad but was tolerable because they had good prices. Pre-Covid, you could buy a bowl of chicken pho for about $6 to $7.
Today was my first time back and the same bowl of chicken pho is $10.95. I understand prices will eventually go up in any business but you can't almost double your prices, keep providing the same bad service and expect customers to come back.
They still do not provide tap water so you need to buy bottled water, soda or one of their teas if you want to drink anything. I was going to buy milk tea with boba but the guy at counter said they were out of boba and it was going to take them 45 minutes to make it! That sounds like an excessive amount of time to make boba but I did not want to wait so i got the plain milk tea on ice.
It is almost impossible to get any of the servers to talk to you. When they bring out your food, the server usually avoids eye contact while putting your plate on the table and immediately turns around and walks away without saying a word. They will never come back to your table to ask if you need anything so be prepared to walk up to the counter or raise your voice and call one of them out come to your table. I would usually ask for extra lime and a few extra napkins but they always give me this confused look as if I'm asking for a miracle to happen... so i just don't ask anymore.
Needless to say, I will not be coming back to this establishment. Their prices are now comparable to many competitors in the area that provide way better customer service and the same (or better)...
Read moreWent here for lunch. Service was smooth, food was good, things were fairly speedy, Had a sandwich to go afterwards.
I had the pad thai, came a little later, my parents ordered pho, which would obviously be readily available. My dad's complaint was not enough jalapenos so he got extra, and not enough bean sprouts. I found it to be normal.
The menu, Inexpensive. The ineterior, casual and clean. The exterior, if you've ever seen this place before, it should bring some sort of memories. It should also make you hungry and question about entering.
If you're a big eater, either double up or add something else. I'd say get some banh mi, but that's because it's cheap and I love them.
Other notes, food being a little plain should be a given, if everyone had a universal palette, we wouldn't have so many restaurants and types of cuisine. I found my pad thai a little off putting, until I added the lime. Should've added more lime, but it popped and I kind of want more now.
It's nice to have a local place, all those years of memories with the one at garden grove, and now there's...
