Hard to judge this place off my first experience. When my party arrived, we had to double check to make sure the restaurant was open for lunch. The two restaurants in the same center were packed and that's usually not a good sign for restaurants that aren't. But Hacienda's had good reviews so we decided to check it out anyway. There was no wait, we got sat right away. Also the waitress greeted us right away and took our drink order and we had menus right away. That's when things sort of got off track. Another guy came over and tried to take our drink order, we politely told him the other waiter got it and he was off to another table. A third person brought our drinks and chips and salsa. We were unable to put in our order for another 15 minutes! At one point we though our waitress has left. Then we saw her at the bar and another table and then cleaning a table. Obviously they were short handed, just her and the other guy, right? It wasn't busy and it was okay, we weren't in a hurry. - I am not faulting her service or the male waiter. What I am faulting: near when we finally did get our food to the table, there was like 5 other employees and the manager out helping no one because patrons were leaving. Maybe it was just an off day but when there are no cars outside and people are leaving due to lack of service and the manager is in the back.... It makes the wait staff look bad when it's not their fault. This one is on management. Poor girl was so busy she had forgotten a drink order. Of course she was apologetic but again, I don't fault her. Just my observation of the restaurant. Looks like a good place to chill, there was little going on. The Astros game was on, people were drinking/having a good time at the bar. But as for dining experience, "meh" is the best description. With so many Mexican food restaurants in the area, I feel there is little room for error. Lest you want your parking lot to be empty during lunch time. Salsa Verde was top notch! Queso Blanco, also very good!

I think this place is a bit overrated. The food is okay. I had the flag enchiladas which consists of 3 enchiladas. One chicken with green sauce, one beef with gravy and one pork with cascabel sauce. As you can see from the picture, the green sauce is pretty non existent and probably under the rice. The gravy and cascabel sauce mixed so I couldn't tell which sauce was which and the flavors so blended only when I looked at the meat could I tell which one I was having. My hubs had the mole enchiladas. He said they were meh. He's had better mole. On top of meh food the service was pretty much a no show! She checked on us once shortly after we got our food and then didn't see her for at least 30 minutes or more. Finally I had to go find her so we could get boxes. Which were dropped off by another server. Then a few minutes later she asked if we wanted dessert. We declined and asked for the check. She dropped that off and walked away. We sat there for over 5 minutes waiting for her to come pick up the payment. We decided we didn't want to wait anymore and as we were looking for her the hostess said oh I can take that. We weren't told we could just pay with the hostess. As a matter of fact when we walked in we didn't even see the register right as you walk in the door before the host stand. We won't be going back!

My experience with this Mexican Restaurant was very different than others. I was born and raised in the area, so maybe my Tex-Mex expectations differ. I do not think the restaurant makes anything from scratch. Their enchilada sauce and queso tasted like it came from a can. I did observe the tortilla truck making a delivery the other day, so I know their tortillas are not made fresh. To me, this is a requirement for any great Mexican restaurant. This is what leads me to believe their other food components are purchased and not made in house. I ordered beef enchiladas and a beef taco. The enchiladas were “bland”. My daughter ordered a beef fajita taco al carbon. The fajita meat tasted like roast. That being said, the service was great. That is why I rated the experience with 2 stars. In my opinion, there are many better Mexican food options within a few miles... I just saw the reply from the owner regarding the made from scratch recipes. With an invite, I would be happy to visit the kitchen and gladly make appropriate updates to my review.

I was looking forward to a nice night out with my wife after the winter weather and power outages all week so we decided to try this place out instead of our favorite place in Sugar Land, Carmelos. It was totally packed when we arrived, which is normally a good sign. After waiting half an hour to get a spot, we sat down and decided to get a few margaritas to unwind. One spicy without salt, one normal with. The drinks came out and the orders were flipped, mine had no salt and my wife's had salt on her spicy margarita. No big deal, they're busy and mistakes happen. When I told our waiter that it was a mistake and it was supposed to be the opposite, his only response was sorry, it's a busy bar night. Nothing we can do. I even offered to drink my wife's drink if they could bring us a new spicy margarita without salt so she could have what we paid for. Nope, again evaristo replied that the bars busy and it's not his problem. I wanted to leave and just let them drink the mistakes but it was our first night out in awhile so we stayed. Next up was guacamole. It was good if you like mashed up avocado with no other flavor other than some tomato and onion here and there. Again, they're busy so maybe it was just bad luck. Finally the entrees come. My wife is vegan so she ordered the vegetarian chalupas, no cheese or sour cream. They come out and yup...cheese is all over them. Evaristo actually apologized, which I didn't know he knew how to do, and said it would be fixed. 5 minutes later they bring out tostadas that looked like they're straight from the taco bell down the road. Just two flat tortillas with beans and lettuce and tomato. And the sauteed veggies she asked for on the side were brought out cold and just steamed without any flavor.

On the bright side, my burrito was decent and actually lived up to its name as being gigantic. But I would much rather give my money to Carmelos that had a much better tasting burrito for less money and most importantly, waiters that actually give customer service. We still gave a 20 percent tip because Raul was great and waited on us for half of the time but I'll never return to this place because of Evaristo and his lack of caring about doing his job. Maybe a busy night made him lose focus on his sole responsibility to serve his customers as a waiter, but these are two customers and everyone they talk to that will never come back.

Do yourself a favor and make margaritas at home and go to taco bell for the same quality food and better customer service...

This was our first time eating here and it will be our last.

Right after sitting down, our waitress asked if we wanted any appetizers. Since we hadn’t even looked at the menu yet, we didn’t know. She said she would come back. We didn’t see her again for at least 20 minutes. My husband had to flag down someone else to get drinks for us. This person put a drink down in front of my 7 month old son and I was able to grab the drink from him as he was reaching for it. We continued to eat chips and drinks while waiting for someone to take our order. We asked 3 times to put in our order and still hadn’t seen our server. The person that gave us the drinks brought me a refill and put it down right in front of my 7 month old son again. This time he knocked it over before I even noticed and spilled the drink all over me, the floor, and his high chair. It was a couple of minutes before anyone came to clean up. They just mopped the floor and that was it. They didn’t offer any other napkins (thank you to the other customers that gave me their napkins) and didn’t wipe down the high chair or give a replacement. Funny enough, right after that our server finally showed up. I told her I was not happy that we had been waiting so long to place our order and had asked several times and that someone had put a drink down right in front of my 7 month old son for the second time, causing it to be spilled. She didn’t offer any apologies and just asked if we wanted to place our order. My husband said for us to just get the check, so we did. I wanted to speak to the manager because of the terrible service and the fact this ruined our entire night, but my husband suggested we just leave so we can clean up. After getting home, I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager, Rico, who said that he would refund the drinks. We still haven’t received a refund. He also wasn’t very apologetic and told me that the restaurant was having a bad night due to a shortage of staff as 3 people called in due to illness. If this was a one off, then he would’ve kept his word and refunded the drinks. He also said he would give us a free appetizer the next time we came in, but that won’t be happening because we won’t be coming here again. I tried to be understanding of the situation, but this really ruined our happy night. There are many restaurants to choose from and we picked this one. If the staff was too short to operate, the restaurant should’ve been closed or at...
