Where do I start. I drove from Katy out here to get a coffee flight for my birthday. I get there and unfortunately we cannot substitute the coffees in the flight. I would change that rule to allow the experience to be more unique and personalized. My sister ordered one and I wanted a different Latte since I couldn't customize the flight and they were out of the Horchata on a Sunday morning so we ended up sharing. Also, my sister wanted to ice something instead of hot and couldn't. Not cool.
Second and most importantly, we felt pushed out our seats. Apparently a cookie decorating class was going on as we watched the lady walk up with her wagon. She saw us sitting there and started setting up her event that we saw no reserved signage for. We went to order and sat right back where we originally sat only to find placemats all around us. Catching the stares and whispers I opted to move my sister and I to the other side as we could clearly see we were in her way. Immediately they put place mats where we were. Luckily, we moved a second time only to find d a better spot.
We visited well over 30mins catching up to see the event start. I felt as if the event host was damn near ordering the staff around to please her guests. They were pleasing her every request we had to clean our own table before sitting.
Maybe I missed the part that the she was the owner of the coffee shop but then if she was she definitely didn't make us feel welcomed. Poor workers having to deal with her bossiness. Reserved signage prior to the event would have been nice and would've avoided all of this.
It was a cute place but not worth visiting again.
I would've given it 0 for my experience but two stars is me being nice considering the servers that were nice and for the brown sugar...
Read moreYou don’t need to look very far to find a coffee house. The large chains are largely responsible for the rise of coffee houses overall, but the small, privately owned coffee houses are often the very best. One I visited recently and liked is Humble Grounds Coffeehouse.
Humble Grounds Coffeehouse sells assorted coffee drinks, like you would expect, plus tea along with a few surprises, like smoothies. For food, they serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks, with options that range from breakfast tacos to chicken salad sandwiches and more. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, they serve pastries and they even have a kid’s menu, perfect for smaller appetites.
The interior of Humble Grounds Coffeehouse is cozy and generally quiet, with assorted seating that includes upholstered chairs, couches, wooden chairs, etc. There is an outdoor patio area too, and if you decide you would like to pass some time with friends, they even have games to play.
As for the food and drink, it is quite good. I have tried the breakfast tacos, flavored iced tea, and cold brew and found everything to my liking overall. The service is friendly, too. It’s the type of place that makes you feel good to visit and you are likely to leave feeling even better. The cozy surroundings, memorable drinks, and friendly faces are almost certain to place you in a positive mood.
I like checking out coffeehouses and while I still visit the chain establishments from time to time, I prefer the independent coffeehouses. Humble Grounds Coffeehouse in Fulshear is certainly worth a visit. It checks off most all of the boxes for what I expect in a coffee house, and it deserves a place on your list of coffee shops to visit in the greater...
Read moreHad a couple of fantastic cortado coffees here, unfortunately third time was definitely not a charm for me, when I questioned the quality of said third cup it was met with a very unsatisfactory response, as I didn’t want to make a fuss in front of the other customers, I left disposing of the undrinkable coffee in the nearest bin. I later called the manager on the phone to talk over the incident and she kindly offered me a free replacement drink. The next morning I called by for my complimentary cortado and a flat white for my daughter (which I paid for). Passive aggressive is the only way I can describe the treatment I received, both drinks ordered together, the cortado was put in front of me in a less than polite manner, I was then treated to a will we or won’t we eventually give you the flat white??? It came after a good 5 minute wait!! Again no politeness or even a sorry for the delay!! The cortado looked like weak dishwater and the flat white was cold, I guess that will teach me not to dare complain in this establishment! Needless to say I...
