Chestnut Station — Restaurant in Gadsden

I'm just at a loss at how slow this service was at the bar. As a bartender myself, I was watching as multiple health code violations were taking place every time I went up there. The place was filthy. The staff was in zero hurry to sell drinks. Zero. It was the night of a show so I can see a wait on service, but even before the croud showed up it was 15 min at the bar to get a drink with mabe 30 ppl in the whole place. Once it got busy it turned into 25, 30, and then 45 minutes to finally get our tab cashed out. That's standing at the bar, looking at them and waiting for service. Literally standing at the bar. I'm at a loss here. The old lady that owns this place was there that nite also. I am at a loss as to how someone would want to run a place missing out on that much potential income. I guarantee it was mid 5 figures conservatively that didn't get sold in drinks. Literally everyone was complaining about it and had the same experience. I heard this is common place at this establishment. Crazy! If it wasn't for the shows bringing people in, this place would be out of business. If you want to drink when you see a show, I suggest you go elsewhere. This was by far the worst service I've ever seen in my life. Me and my wife could have ran that bar by ourselves being from a busy tourist town bar scene. There was 6 people working behind the bar and none of them worked even at a moderate rate! They have some very Rude Bartenders!!! I'm not from Gadsden Alabama and this was my 1st time being introduced to this Bar, in which I will never go back in there again!! I was treated with tremendously Disrespect by the lady that bartender on Wednesdays 27th 2019. I asking for the manager; bc of her rudeness. She told me that she was the Manager!!! I notice that they don't use utensils after asking her for a lime also. She used her bare hands to give me a lime and threw it in a cup at me!! That's not unsanitary especially after dealing with money and touching on other obstacles. I wouldn't accept it and asked her if she could used a paper towel or a utensil. This lady cursed me out awfully bad and insulted me bc I simply asked her to use a utensils when giving me some limes. Mind you I was the only black lady in there beside the 2 black gentlemen that took me to this God forsaken place. I will never go...

After a long day of driving & seeing some sights we stopped in to just chill a bit before heading to the hotel. What can I say, I think we almost closed the place down, so many good people to visit with, cold beer, good food & Jager-bombs! We had such a good time, enjoyed hanging out with the local wildlife & the fella doing the singing was fun too... for any bar loving tourists, I highly recommend this place for a good time, not sure about the other bars in town, we planned to hit them all but time just seemed to fly by as it always does when your having fun! Stop in, eat, drink, chase Mary & mingle with good people intent on enjoying themselves too!!! Love this place, the people & the town of Gadsden has been the highlight of our places visited on our road trip.... ok, off to North Carolina to see what we can get into there! ...
