The Mort Glosser Amphitheater was built in 1935 and considered to be one of the many Historical Places to visit in Gadsden! It was used to entertain our Soldiers during 🇺🇸 WWI 🇺🇸 who where stationed out at Camp Sibert! Outside of War Time they could go see Concerts, Boxing Matches etc. I Guess this will be my last time to visit the Amphitheater, since The City of Gadsden has finished the construction on "The Venue" (located on George Wallace Drive) "BUT" Memories were made as we laughed, sang and danced with Friends "AND" enjoyed some really Good Concerts ourselves! Read moreI attended a festival where The Amp was serving mimosas. My friends and I were very excited to spend our morning together at this event. The encounter I had with an employee of The Amp really put a damper on my day. As we waited in line, one employee was walking through the line checking IDs and handing out wristbands to people of drinking age. The employee checked my ID and put on my wristband. When I stepped up to tell the woman pouring drinks what I wanted, she demanded she check my ID even though I was wearing a wristband. Read moreThe Amp is a delightful place to see a concert and the city of Gadsden promotes a number of shows that are free to the public. Parking too is free. The space itself is solid stone, so if the crowd is light the sound is bouncy.
Because the venue is stone, bringing cushions is a good idea. Bringing in soft drinks can also help as concessions are there, but hard to find.
