12/29/19 UPDATE: BEST. BRUSSEL SPROUTS. EVER. Wandered through for Sunday brunch again and it was very good. Something new to the buffet line (or at least I don't remember it from before) is the Brussel sprouts and carrots. Don't know if they were done in a pan, roasted off on a sheet pan, whatever, but they were absolutely perfect with a balance of flavor I have not gotten anywhere else. Kudos to today's kitchen! I actually ended up eating nearly a whole plateful of them! _____________________________________________ Cheese ravioli with chicken, mushrooms, and tomatoes in a creamy pesto sauce was very good. The sauce was really the star of that dish! Fish and chips... well, the fries were good... the fish was breaded fish pieces that may have been fried or possibly baked? The breading honestly has me believing that these were poured out from a frozen box or bag. Live and learn, won't order again. Guacamole was good, chips were okay, just wish we could have toned down the jalapeno. Pork belly was a good dish. The slaw, with the sweet chili sauce, and the pork all at once is a bite you can love. Great balance and play of texture. A must do on a return trip! Waitstaff was awesome! On time, never pushy, and great to chat a moment with. And absolutely knew every dish we asked about! Love that!

We came here as a place to grab a bite with my mother after a Dr.s appointment in Gainesville, we found it on Google and were happy to find a place with outdoor seating, it was a nice day. The setting was great, a little eclectic downtown square, cute art and just a real comforting setting...then...the most unhappy, unappealing waitress came. My brother and I are former servers so it is not alien to us. Our drinks were met with no smile, after we had to go in and ask for service (there were no other tables there) The food came with no smile, no personality, and no butter for toast...my brother used my sour cream to put on his toast and after the second time asking, it came with no apologies. My mom got the Eggs Benedict, my brother, the vegetarian omelette and I got the fish tacos. It looked great! Everyone liked their meal, but the fish tacos were so dry, it was almost like eating dehydrated meat. This place had a good menu and we potentially would be back every time we take Mom to the Dr. but after this, we will probably look elsewhere.

First time coming here. We met some friends we haven’t seen in a while on a Friday night. There was a pretty good crowd but we made reservations ahead of time since we had a party of 7 so we didn’t have to wait. Started off with Calamari which was great. I took our servers suggestion and ordered the Basil Cream Chicken and Shrimp. I was not disappointed! It was fantastic! My wife got the Chicken and Mushroom Alfredo which was great too. Our friends ordered a couple appetizers, the guacamole and chips, and also the hummus and chips. Both awesome! Our server, Evan, did a great job handling our party’ and knew the menu very well. He kept our drinks full, empty plates off the table, and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a great experience and will definitely return! Oh, and the praline cheesecake was the bomb!!!

Phenomenal service and good! As We walked in the door, We were greeted by a friendly host who took Us to our table and told Us that our server would be Brittany. Brittany is on another level of hospitality!

She was kind, knowledgeable, and articulate. When i asked to sub out the egg for an avocado on the quinoa stir-fry bowl, she said of course without hesitation. When i told her my wife’s drink was a little weak, she brought Us a shot to spice it up. When explained that the POS didn’t put out goat cheese bread to the kitchen, she brought Us another order of brussels sprouts. Then, after dinner, she brought my wife a desert wishing her a happy 40th birthday. She definitely made our experience an amazingly memorable one.

As for the food, the other reviews nail it. The brussels sprouts were perfect with its balsamic vinegar, and the goat cheese bread profile with the olives were fantastic. My quinoa stir-fry bowl was also really excellent. Portion sizes were just right: not too big, not too small.

The only problem were the medallions that my wife ordered. They were supposed to be cooked medium (warm pink center), but came out medium rare (warm red center). Had i cooked the medallions myself though, i probably would have thought that the medallions were medium too because of their firmness. We just had a tough cut of meat which probably threw off the grill cook. We didn’t complain though, because everything else was perfect. i gave this rating 5 stars overall because of Brittany though. She really made our...

I'm terribly late posting this review, but I wanted to make certain that I word it right. Saturday May 13th was my husband's birthday, and I threw him a party. The owner David and the caterer Abbie worked with me on the menu and my budget for this party. There was fantastic communication with Abbie the entire time. When I arrived, Abbie gave me the menu that we and our guests would be ordering from. There was a wonderful variety of selections, and the food was fantastic! I HIGHLY recommend the truffle fries and the meatballs and....oh who am I kidding? I recommend ALL of it! Everyone ordered when they were ready, and it all arrived quickly. Abbie was absolutely wonderful. The restaurant was short staffed so Abbie took care of us. She's a delightful young woman who gave us her full attention and provided excellent service. She was kind enough to take the cake I brought in and keep it in the back until we were ready for it. She put the candles on it and brought it out for us. I couldn'tve asked for a better location, or person to help me with this party. Abbie took all the stress out of the planning. If you're looking for someplace to throw a party, then you don't need to look any farther than Avacado's. And be sure to save yourself a headache and let Abbie cater it for you. If you're not sure who to talk to, go to the sister restaurant Hopscotch and ask for Tony, he'll get you in touch with Abbie. 5 stars...

If you don't want the long version of my experince it boils down to over-priced,mediocre food, and bad service.

So I go to one of the local universities, so my roommate and decided to bypass our usual favorite, Atlas Pizza, to try thus place. We were seated unenthusiasticly, then had to guess what drinks they had, because we could not find any soft drinks on the menu. Then we saw that there was a small selection of $15+ entrees. So, I originally ordered the fish and chips, which tasted off and I began to feel nauseous. So, after trying to force myself to eat them I finally had to return it for the burger. My rommate couldn't eat there for personal reasons and asked waitress for a togo box while she was still there, which was not often even with the small amount of patrons. The waitress asked if the food wasn't good, which my roommate responded no, which is an okay question to ask, but then she was hostile asking then why did she need a box at all, making her explain some very personal issues that were better left unsaid. Finally, I get the burger and, while I'm positive I said well done, the burger was red in the middle. And to add insult to injury the fries were over cooked and had a weird texture. All around it was just a terrible experince that I will not repeat. Save your money and your stomach, just go...
