Downtown Drafts — Restaurant in Gainesville

I so wanted this place to be my go to spot since we recently opened an office off the square however I've had two bad experiences. The first one was opening a tab and after two beers I went to close it and had a $40+ bill...apparently they had other drinks added to mine and it took forever to convince them that they weren't mine. a week or so later I was there on a Sunday and grabbed a drink leaving the tab open since I thought I might grab another after we walked the square. We had dinner and I realized I didn't close things out but at that point it was after 9 on Sunday and google said they were closed. The next day my credit card statement states they charged my card $28.21 for one drink. That's one heck of a tip!

Mane, I have been visiting Downtown Drafts for years… probably before the craft beer boom, like the beginnings of Cherry Street & Akademia. However, I never wrote a review because I took it for granted. Well, this review is to the owners of cool ass spot for ALL… yeah all. I watched May 1 from Cotto Italian restaurant and the crowd was hyped, eclectic, diverse and having a great time. Wow!! It was so nice to observe. 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

Yet, my real props is to how they handled and survived the pandemic. They kept the main thing , the main thing and never wavered. They stuck with craft beers, sours, wines, and added their version of mix drinks. Well done!

With that, I would highly recommend Downtown Drafts in Gainesville for good brew experience. If you are an old timer like me, I would get there early, maybe 4-6 because Gen Z and the Millennials love this...

Whether you're looking for a gift for a friend, a spot to meet up with friends, or just want to try a new beer, they do it all. Downtown Drafts allows dogs and offers to go cups so you can walk the park with your drink. Over the past year of living in Gainesville, Downtown Drafts has been a staple in our social lives.
