I ordered a cubano (one sugar), a regular size light roast coffee, and an avocado toast. The roast on the espresso was kind of bitter without many notes of fruit or chocolate coming off it. Combined with the sugar it was pretty acidic and for those with sensitive stomachs might cause a touch of upset. The light roast coffee was light, but a little thin. It seemed light on grounds causing a drop product that allowed me to see the bottom of the cup through the tea like the product. The flavor was good, but I think with a few more grams of grounds in the drip basket it would be a lot thicker feeling on the tongue and thus more flavorful. The avocado toast was pretty straightforward. Sourdough toast, avocado, red onion, the end. There's a lot more that can be done with this dish and for the asking price, perhaps it should be done, but it was for my wife and she was fine with it. I've heard her rave over balsamic glazed red onions atop mounds of smashed avocado, sprinkled with feta crumbles and crushed bacon bits. But this item met the bare minimum of what is required to be avocado toast, bread and avocado. I can't rate the staff. They were polite but not outgoing. They seemed much more comfortable with the regulars of which I am not one. Once again, just hitting the bare necessities, a warm body to pump the coffee pot. All in all, it got me to where I needed to be, caffeinated. But they didn't do it in any way shape or form that will leave an indelible mark on my memory. It is the...
Read moreI've started comming here last month once a week because I really enjoy the flavor of their coffee,my favorite is getting a cold brew with expresso and some cold foam. They were very busy that day and had a big order in front of us. I didn't mind waiting the extra time as the coffee here is very good. However when I got my order it was wrong. They forgot the cold foam on my drink, and I let the person know behind the counter. She kindly fixed it for me which I really appreciated, however when I also got my large drink it look like it was in a medium. I tried bringing this up nicely to the lady behind the counter but she told me that what I got was the large cup even though it was the same size as my medium drink cup with the extra same dimensions aswell. Now I have worked in customer service for 7 years and I get it. You get big orders and you get going and sometimes mistakes happen, i don't make a big deal out of mistakes because I know how it is. I can't say that the lady behind the counter lied to me, but my drink cups are the extra same size and it seems I got up charged for a large on my recipe and they just didn't want to admit they messed up both my drinks. If I paid for a large I should get a large. The coffee was very good though so I deffinately...
Read moreI used to frequent this spot sometimes twice a day for over a year but I don't plan on coming back. I decided to try out Meadowlark after an employee at Inman criticized my coffee order, saying the flavor I ordered wasn't a good choice to another employee while they were making it, thinking I couldn't hear them.
After walking by Inman and seeing they had zero customers sitting outside their building, our small group took a seat for a moment and immediately the "owner" stormed out the door and said, very aggressively, "The seating was reserved for paying customers only" and that she couldn't help but "notice our cups". I was appalled at how insanely aggressive this woman was. I simple, "Hey, we save this for customers. Do you mind?" would have sufficed coming from the owner of the business. It seemed the owner, Blanche, was either having a terrible day or looking for a fight of some sort. Either way, I don't ever plan on coming back to Inman.
Updating this from the "response". How could the way the owner acted and presented herself prompt any kind of positive outcome from this interaction? Again, I am appalled by her demeanor and the way she handled herself. Glad there is a better coffee shop literally...
