Edit: After Bambuu reached out to us and offered a refund we decided to give them another chance. On the second trip to their establishment things went much better. The food was hot and fresh... And very tasty. My wife was impressed by the Korean BBQ chicken and the spring rolls. Also she loved the boba. I enjoyed the Mongolian chicken.
The curbside pickup actually worked this time and the staff were very friendly and ready to make sure that anything that was wrong was righted. For example they didn't have many boba pearls for the boba tea, and offered to give us some spring rolls to make it right. Which my wife appreciated a lot.
All of this being said I'm adjusting the reviews stars.
My previous experience can still be read about below for transparency, but this goes to show that they know how to adapt and overcome.
Let's start with the service. I ordered curbside pickup, and then proceeded to sit in the parking lot for roughly 20 minutes before realizing something has to be wrong. I followed the instructions on their sign, but no food was being brought out. Upon entering the store I come to find that my food has just been sitting on a shelf getting cold for that 20 minutes and they seemed completely oblivious to the fact that we had been waiting in the car for that length of time. After this I grabbed the food and left.
Once I arrived home with my wife we tried the food and it was obviously at this point cold. It was decent food, I feel as though if it were hot it would have been a lot better.
The orange chicken was much better than they who shall not be named across the parking lot, and the real shining star was the Mongolian chicken. Had the food been at the right temperature it wouldve probably been a 3 or 4 star if not damn near a 5.
The cream cheese wontons though... Ive never had cream cheese wontons that tasted so sweet... I'm used to them being savory with a hint of onion sometimes, but these tasted like cereal milk for some reason... It was so weird.
Either way we were left fairly disappointed by the service, cold food, and the strange tasting wontons.
We will try them again after they've had some time to get through the growing pains of opening a restaurant up in Gainesville... Especially on such a busy...
Read moreI went around 12:30pm and got a bowl to go. Instantly as I walked I noticed how everything looked fresh. I had high expectations but unfortunately the food wasn’t as good as it looked.
I ordered the four bowl and decided to try the bbq pork, orange chicken, low mein and veggies.
The noddles had a nice bite to it but were a little on the under seasoned side. Nothing a little soy sauce and duck sauce can't fix though. The veggies had a nice crunch and I know it's a desired taste , I personally like my veggies al dente and when I bit into them they tasted more raw than anything. It wasn't tossed in a sauce so it was bland like buying bagged veggies and placing them on the plate.
The only redeeming quality of the bowl honestly was the orange chicken. I don't know what is going on because people mention it being salty and others mention it being bland. I think everyone's tastebuds are different. Me personally I could use more flavor and seasonings in the food. Nothing really stood out to me. The orange chicken was great though and I wish I had gotten double portion of it. It was chewy but not obnoxious kind but the perfect chewy but crunchy texture. Juicy white chicken and no weird bites of tendons.
The pork was a little dry but the flavor was almost there for me. I found myself craving that orange chicken and would come back just for that honestly. I used to love Panda as a kid but now I’ve outgrew them . I always find that it’s not the same quality so I was hoping this place did it better. There’s still new granted they opened recently so there’s space to grow but people’s first impression seems to be that they love it or they don’t. Hope this business is able to garner loyal customers.
As for me, I plan to review once they are open for a couple more months and give them a chance to work out kinks and then maybe my rating will go up. I hope they are able to stay open with Panda...
Read moreI’m not even surprised seeing similar reviews saying the Mexican guy with beard is hostile. Come here regularly, food is good and all but why would they hire such people like him for customer service? His service is horrible, things he said to me as a customer is unacceptable!
Two days ago I walked in, they gave me only two pieces of chicken for the second protein option. I didn’t pay attention for the portion they gave me, but you would assume that you would at least get what you paid for. But NO, and the only option the guy gave me was driving back and receiving the rest of my food. Does everyone have the time to drive back each time they mess up? Today , I went back to grab dinner and the same guy who answered the phone was serving me the food and I kindly asked if I was able to redeem the food I didn’t get last time , he goes “ you kind of have declined my offer”. EXCUSE ME???
This is absolutely horrendous! The guy seems like he doesn’t like his job, if you can’t do customer service. This job is not for you.
If he happens to be your server , you have a better chance of getting a meal next door at...
