This place gave me food poisoning, and I got incredibly sick after easting here yesterday afternoon 10/11/24. I stopped here on my way home completely famished, hadn't eaten all day (nothing since 10/10). I had a 25 hours religious fast coming up last night until this evening, and knew I wouldn't feel like cooking today 10/12, so I ordered a whole chicken and some kimchi fried rice so I would have leftovers. I ate, despite the disappointment with the food detailed below, because I was famished and there were no outward signs I would get food poisoning.
Outside of getting sick, the food was not good. When I started to eat, I discovered my "whole" chicken, was a bunch of random pieces. There were at least 4 wings and 4 drumsticks. Very few pieces of breasts and thighs. So they filled the volume of the box with less valuable, less meat dense pieces. I do not think this was equivalent to a whole chicken. I know how Korean style fried chicken is typically served and this wasn't that. The crust on the chicken was good, but the interior was very dried out. The kimchi fried rice was soggy, bland, and just not good. Very few pieces of kimchi. The fried egg on top was overcooked to a rubber, shriveled puck.
The final insult was the price, nearly $45 for the meal with tax. The chicken alone was over $30 with tax. If you are going to demand such a high price, the food better be good and of a decent quantity. When it came to the kimchi fried rich, there wasn't very much of it. For $13 I would have expected a full portion, not a glorified side.
All and all, a very bad experience. I will be calling for a...
Read moreYay, new chicken place! Love Korean style chicken and have been waiting for this one to open. They have a ton of flavors to choose one from and all of them sound delicious. They also offer a couple of Korean dishes and chicken sandwiches!
For our first time, we tried the Galbi and the Soy Garlic. The chicken was nice and crunchy and good. The soy garlic is not as flavorful compared to Choong Man or Bonchon, in my opinion. but it is unique and has a different taste that is good.
The Galbi was very flavorful and great! will definitely be back to try the other unique flavors.
Inside is very clean and modern decor with seating if you wish to dine in.
They make the food to order so there may be some wait...
Read moreThese days, many BBQ Chicken locations are opening with more of a fast-food-style concept, and this place is one of those new styles. However, the chicken here doesnât taste as good as the original, old-school style you can find at the Centerville location. Itâs a bit lacking in flavor.
Whatâs more, the prices here are similar to the dine-in restaurant in Centerville. That doesnât seem balanced to me. The setup is fast-food style â customers have to pick up and serve everything themselves â but the chicken quality isnât quite on par with a full-service dine-in experience. So if the taste is lower and the service is self-serve, but the price remains the same, it just...
