Mom's OG — Restaurant in Gainesville

Was like 3 in the afternoon not really any business going on, sweet tea tasted like syrupy sugar water, menu was as expected, very simple figured wouldn’t take long, 30 minutes for a 5 top that ordered all things that take barely 5 minutes to assemble if done in the right order. Fries were bad, burgers were insanely terrible had to send it back because I kid you not was literally just a piece of asphalt between two buns and what’s sad is multiple people see that and were just all too lazy to wanna fix it/care, what’s funny is they asked for a temp for the burgers but were nothing near close to medium. The chicken patty was way too over fried, and was like a steak to eat, the tomato, onion and lettuce was way too big for the size of each sandwich’s protein. The Bathroom is literally a hovel for animals, soap dispenser broken off the wall on the counter, men’s bathroom door was just on the floor and the water to both sinks just didn’t work so idk how the employees wash their hands before returning to work. I never expect much from a bar with food but the standard here is condemnable. Consider my four to be like a 4.4, and the only reason it isn't a five is because of the condition of the building which is no fault of the owners. But I can't give a bar with sticky floors and a hole in the bathroom floor a perfect score. But when it comes to the quality of the food? Their burgers and chicken sandwiches are so good. All of their sides are decadent. And even their tacos are high quality. Their drink prices are rock bottom. The service? Absolutely top notch. I went with my son to Mom's OG, after we unloaded the car to move him into his dorm room. Burgers were good unfortunately we were there. Same time that our server was eating lunch, but he did a decent job. They didn't have any unsweet tea available, which was OK? The whole place was pretty smoky from the kitchen all the way forward, like the exhaust hoods aren't working properly. They had fans in the dining room to keep everybody cool but my opinion would be to use one of the fans as an extra exhaust to get rid of the smoke.
