Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Gainesville

Service here is usually spot on, but I came by today and was disappointed.

First, when I sat down I showed the waitress a coupon I had and asked if I could use it at that establishment, she read it, said yes, and took the order. Secondly: Before my food got there, she took my drink back for a refill, and I didn’t get my refill until after I was done eating, as I was getting ready to leave, and after I asked her again for my drink. The entire time I was waiting for my drink I was able to see her talking, eating and helping other customers, then when she brought my drink she made up some lie about the cup for a reason for it being so late. Then, when I got to the counter to check out she scanned my coupon and said “sorry can’t use it this is supposed to be for a small shake.” This is pretty upsetting because she got me the wrong size shake to use for the coupon after I specifically asked for whatever the coupon said.

Every other person working there is always courteous to customers, and I saw her act the same with other customers. Today I was there with my girlfriend, and being trans we look like a LGBT couple when we’re out together. This is the first time anyone has treated us differently at that steak and shake, and since she was courteous and SMILED at other customers but NOT US, it makes me think that she was treating us that way because of a personal discrimination.

DO NOT SIT IN HANNA'S SECTION!! She absolutely SUCKED! She took mine and my husband's order and got it all wrong. We ordered milkshakes the minute we sat down and she took our drink order. We did not get them until AFTER we finished eating. When we got our bill the milkshakes were not on there. But she did charge us 1.79 for a soda we didn't even order. I ordered my milkshake with out whip cream and a cherry and when we FINALLY got them my milkshake had whip cream and a cherry. My husband then heard her say to the manager that I never told her that. She tried to put it on me and make it my fault. While we were waiting at the register to pay, a customer standing next to us was charged twice when Hanna took his order. She literally shrugged it off and didn't take any blame for it. She then said she didnt know how it happened and that he would need to talk a manager about it and just walked away. She did NOTHING to help the gentleman with the mistake and some one else take care of it for her. There were absolutely no apologies from her to us or the other customer.

This girl has NO BUSINESS working in the customer service field. Any mistakes she may make she walks away and doesn't take any responsibility and has someone else fix it. Please repost!!!

I have been using this Steak ‘n Shake for about 10 years and just like all restaurants I have had great experience and then some poor experiences like I had Sunday March 10th. My group of 4 went to Steak n Shake at 2pm which isn’t lunch or dinner but the restaurant was still almost full. With this prior knowledge I knew there might be some wait but I never expected a wait in excess of 25 minutes for fast food! This particular time was a 1 star experience, but I have had good times there hence the 3 star. Once we were seated, it took our waitress about 10 minutes to acknowledge us and take out drink/food order. At that time the wait was on. 25 minutes later our food came out cold, dry, and unappealing. As you can see by the picture that’s what my meal look like. Dry leathery hotdog and a bun falling apart as if it were several days old. I really hope this will be just an outlier experience because I do enjoy Steak n Shake and would be sad it becomes the norm. The one redeeming thing of the day was the bus boy. Whoever he is deserves a raise. He was bussing tables, cleaning tables, serving food, cashing people out. Makes you wonder what the waitresses/waiters were doing that day? Kudos to...
