Nice chairs! here. Interior LOOKS classy at first blush but for some reason they decided to install a white floor which looks like it hasnt been cleaned since they had their grand opening- also they must have cash flow issues as they clearly cheaped out on some of the interior finishes (look closely at the ceramic tile behind the counter- edges are cut roughly so as to slice the arm of a passerby) and they still havent gotten their taps up and running despite ambitious plans to charge $6.00 a brew when there are 5 very fine business within 50 yards that will serve local craft beer for half that). Also they seemed to be trying to save money on AC as it was about 80 degrees in there. They are still obviously getting the hang of how to run a coffee shop (odd seeing as they have or at least had another shop across town). Service was slowwwwww and they were either out of or in the process of making more of about half the stuff on their menu... Which I suppose is a sign of other things being good? Was told drip coffee was 2 minutes out until brew would be finished and I agreed to wait rather than order a pour over for an extra $1.30 or so... ended up waiting for about 20 minutes as the baristas bickered over who was responsible for what behind the counter. Got a medium roast coffee (only option was whatever they had brewed despite multiple selections being peddled) and it tasted worse than the most stale, burnt crispy starbucks dark roast Ive ever had. And this was a best case scenario freshly brewed specimen of wyatts coffee. I am a big fan of the waste not want not mantra so I drank it anyway but it cant hold a candle to the less than stellar folgers at work so as soon as i got back to the office, this 12 oz cup has been set aside and grown cold with about 8 oz remaining... I give One star to wyatts for being friendly to ME (are we really giving stars for common courtesy these days?) if not to each other, another star for cool looking wing backed chairs. Minus one star for awful coffee, minus one star for lack of half the things I might have wanted and minus a third star because the coffee really is that bad... and they were slower than burnt molasses which is about what their coffee taste like (minus the molasses part). Look forward to seeing improvements or being proven wrong as this business is in an excellent location from which to take gainesville by storm if they can do something to distinguish themselves- maybe ditch the $6 beer and make $10 craft coffee COCKTAILS a la Cafe Intermezzo in Atlanta. I would happily...
Read moreI would give 6 stars for service if possible. Wyatt's takes customer service to another level so much so that I have to write another glowing review. My friend and I alternate getting Wyatt's for each other every Friday before work. They know our order so we'll that her and I have both gone in separately not realizing the other was already there and instead of them just letting us order again and getting the extra sale, which they totally could even by accident, they stop us and tell us the other one already got coffee today. It was my turn last Friday and I had been out of town for a couple months so I hadn't done the order in awhile. The guy at the register was new and I just said both drinks with light ice. Then Emily who was making the drinks comes over to me and said "hey, isn't the iced Wyatt supposed to be extra ice and just the cold brew light ice." She was 100% right. I spaced and forgot my friend gets extra ice but once again the staff at Wyatt's saved the day. This kind of expert and SINCERE service is rare but why I will continue to go every Friday....
Read moreLocated a little of Main St in downtown Gainesville, we saw many people walking around with cups from here so we decided to give it a try. We arrived after lunch around 1pm and there was a decent/consistent line that took a bit just to order. One thing I noticed when I came in was that it didn’t smell like a coffeehouse, no strong scent of coffee. We opted to try one coffee and one matcha, hot and iced to get a variety of options. Tried the seasonal pumpkin latte as that’s usually a good measure in my opinion. It was fine, standard nothing wow but not bad either. The matcha flavor was ok but was a little gritty. We were asked what kind of sweetener we wanted and were given a list of options. Nothing was said to be additional however after we found out the honey was $1 additional. How much honey could they have used? Meanwhile the oat milk was only $0.50 additional and more noticeable. IMO there are better options in Gainesville, however if you are nearby and in a...
