Zaxbys Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings — Restaurant in Gainesville

7-09-2023 - I went into eat lunch at Zaxby’s on 43rd in Gainesville, FL, I stood at the counter for nearly 10 minutes with two people behind the counter chit-chattering with each other, one finally walked up to the register and asked if he could take my order. I ordered my food to-go. Once he brought me my order, I walked over to fix my drink and decided to sit down and eat. The only item that was in the bag was the order. No Zaxbys sauce, napkins, ect.

Once I walked over to a table to sit and eat, I noticed water dripping from the ceiling. Every table was dirty. Food was on the floor over a large area. Water was in several places on the floor, besides the area where the water was dripping out of the ceiling, in that area all the tables and chairs were moved and stacked.

Once I ate my food and got ready to leave, the trash cans were full and over-flowing. And finally I decided to go to the bathroom to wash my hands and the trash-can there was overflowing with paper-towels.

And the restaurant wasn’t even busy. This location really needs some improvements. Please see the photos.

Last note: the flooring over the entire restaurant was very slippery. Like some overly large amounts of cleaning supplies was used causing the dry areas to be slippery. Very hazardous - folks can slip and fall...

Whenever we go to zaxby's in Alachua Florida and sit in the dining room to eat our experience and service is fantastic! I never have a complaint for the most part about this location. However, almost every single time I go through the drive-in the customer service is not very good, is not very friendly, and almost seems like a hassle to the individuals who are working to help us. They are never over friendly and are never welcoming us to come back. On top of this, on several trips this location seems to run out of large cups quite often. This has been the case many times before and happened just again a few days ago. I'm giving it a four-star rating because the dining room experience is fantastic. The places always clean, the bathrooms always seem to be maintained, the music is great over the intercom, The food quality is consistent, and the customer service is good. Please take a look at the inventory ordering process and co ach your window employees to be friendly and customer service driven. We plan on coming back many more times since it is very convenient for us to go there and we would go there more often if we didn't have to worry about being in a rush and having to go through the drive-thru and dealing with the negatives we have...

Unfortunately, while Zaxby's almost always delivers on the deliciousness, this time they really let me down on the wait time. It was 23 minutes between the moment I pulled into the drive-thru and the time I actually got food for myself and my son. When I did eventually reach the window, the associate didn't apologize, offer to explain, or even say hello or thank you. She read back half my order (I confirmed she had the other half), told me my total, charged my card and handed it back, and then closed the window to talk to her coworker. I didn't see any customers at the inside counter, so I made eye contact her, she came over, and I asked how much longer it would be. She looked into the kitchen, stood there a few minutes, then came back and said the kitchen was waiting on fingers. She said she tried to explain to the person back there that my son and I had been waiting a long time and the person's response was that they could either do it fast or do it right, but not both.

I'm never opposed to waiting for quality. But that means overall quality experience, not just quality food. Sorry Zaxby's, but this trip left a lot...
