I'm so happy I talk to ppl and I'm getting thru my social anxiety because baybae lemme tell u about this buttery mouth fill I had here!
I met a lady at whole foods who was looking at crossiants. I told her to get the hazelnut one because it was better and more chocolate. She then told me to try this place and now I owe her a dozen of whatever she wants from here because OMFG!
I got the crossiant, peach chausson, and walnut rose.
Walnut rose is heavenly. No raw layers, expensive cinnamon , not the chesp faux crap from cinnabon. Probably the cinnamon they used before they decided to be 1000 stores. Iykyk lightly sweetened because the butter is the queen here.
Peach chausson - omg I almost didn't get it but I never had one and now I will always have one. So crispy and the delicate peach reminds me of peach pie from scratch.
Crossiant is just expensive (euro?) Butter that frustrated me with every bite because I have finally had a crossiant. Lol this is what happens when good things from Europe land in America. We make it taste like pilsbury crossant rolls when it's suppose to be a layered buttered, dream house! Must get! will make you question buying store bought again.
I really broke my own heart trying this 💔 place because I live in Orlando. I sampled everything in the parking lot $14 and I am trying to make sense of not spending another $14 to try some more stuff
Incredible! It should be called upper echelon because I know these recipes are exact dups of pastries the Royals consume.
Ps talk to seniors ! They need more convo and they clearly know good eats unlike us millennials with...
Read moreI can't decide which impressed me more, the baked goods or the staff! I was in town for one day for work and Googled "best pastries near me". Wow, did Google ever get it right! The selection is amazing and ranges from sweet to savory. I ordered a ham & gruyere savory Rose and it was perfection on a plate. At the recommendation of the female staff member, I ordered a Guava Chausson (I don't know what a chausson is but I definitely need more of them in my life). The Chausson was so flaky and delicious; she was correct, this was a pastry. I tried the Raspberry Cream Sweet Rose (also scrumptious). Yes, that's a lot of pastries, don't judge me; I ordered that many so I could accurately review Uppercrust. :) The staff was welcoming, not pushy, and answered my questions thoroughly. They realized it was my first visit, so they gave me 2 cookies (also delicious) as a bonus treat. The staff engaged in delightful conversation as one of them made my coffee. Another great fact about Uppercrust Productions is their coffee is superb! Usually local restaurants, bakeries, etc will go for the flavorless/cheap coffee. Uppercrust coffee is outstanding! I highly recommend Uppercrust Productions for all your bakery needs or if you just want to interact with some really cool people. The pastries were fantastic, coffee was great and the staff seem like people that I would want to hang out with all day. I will make the drive again from Jacksonville this weekend, because Uppercrust Productions...
Read moreUppercrust is hands-down my favorite bakery — not just in Gainesville, but anywhere. I come here weekly (okay, sometimes more than once a week), and every visit feels like a mini escape to France. The bread selection is absolutely divine — fresh, crusty, and full of that rich, authentic flavor you can only get from real, well-made French loaves. And don’t get me started on their staff, the staff there are just as wonderful (if not more) than the food. (Huge shoutout to Alyssa who is always so friendly, kind, patient and knowledgeable with customers).
As someone who adores French cuisine, this place is a dream. From the sweet treats and flaky pastries to the imported French candies, wines, and dips, everything feels curated with so much love and intention. Their white bean dip is easily one of my favorite things they offer — I pick it up almost every time. It’s dangerously good.
They also make a perfect matcha and serve solid coffee if you’re stopping in for a little café moment. Whether I’m shopping, grabbing a quick pastry, or just wandering the store admiring the imported goods, Uppercrust has become a comforting part of my weekly routine. It’s not just a bakery — it’s a love letter to food, to French culture, and to...
