My family and I have been going here for years. Food is always pretty good and the ambience is nice. Take-Out orders are handled well and ready quickly. Good protocols regarding COVID-19 concerning proper social distancing, mask wearing, and cleanliness.
Service can be really hit or miss though. My parents and I went for lunch last week and the server was completely inattentive. She wasn’t knowledgeable about the drink specials at all. We waited a considerably longer time for our food than we are used to there and the server never acknowledged us or apologized or offered time estimates. We waited for drink refills for at least ten minutes. Ran out of chips with no offer to replace them. After finishing our meals, we waited another ten minutes for the server to acknowledge us so we could ask for boxes and then waited again for the check to be brought to us after we asked.
I would have understood if they were slammed during a rush but it really wasn’t busy. At least she was friendly but it would have been nice if she was at the very least apologetic for the spotty service
I still like Blue Agave but issues like these make me hesitant to think twice before coming back or at least dining in. Hopefully this reaches a manager or the appropriate person and they can address it internally. I love their food and don’t want to not come back because of issues...
Read moreI’ve come here for years at a time - absolutely used to love this place & still do (food wise). I won’t lie, food quality (in my opinion) is still amazing. Dine in experience? Looks like a manager (possibly) with an earpiece on was his phone the entire time while other staff runs around. Food runner? Right next to him on the phone the whole time by the greeting desk.
One of the most rushed dining experiences I’ve felt. Because I love this restaurant so much, I brought my GF here who flew all the way down from Phoenix - I would have rather got takeout than sit here again.
Don’t get me wrong, not all the food runners were bland.
A few were giving their clients the experience they deserve (which personally, I was jealous of). I understand it’s 8pm & you close within an hour - that doesn’t mean you make your customer dine in experience a problem for them or make them feel rushed. I still love this restaurant and I’ll continue to eat here but from now on, I’ll order take out.
We ended up getting drinks and asking our serving to order takeout instead of dining in.
The review is based off of customer SERVICE* NOT quality of food. The food here is fantastic**
Today, however, the service was the reason for the rating. I’m hoping I can come back to a different dine...
Read moreWhen I moved to Gainesville, Blue Agave used to be my favorite place to go. I usually don’t let a few bad experiences bother me, but after tonight I’ll never go back. When we got there, they sat us all the way in the back. It took someone a good while to even acknowledge we hadn’t been waited on yet. Someone finally came to us, and we ordered right away. The food came out pretty quickly, but we saw our waiter one time in the whole hour and a half we were there. I’ve been coming here a while, and I can just see the quality of service going downhill, and honestly it all starts with the management. The place has also gotten extremely filthy. I look over my shoulder and I can physically see dirt and dust just piled up on the wood of the booth. Not to mention, halfway through my dinner I look over and see a cockroach crawling up the wall. That’s a last straw for me. I asked my waiter for the bill, and 20 minutes went by before I had to get the manager to bring me my own bill so I could get out of there. The manager didn’t care about anything that I told him, and that was just the last straw for me. I honestly don’t see this place lasting long if this stuff continues, and I know for a fact I’m not the only one who has stopped...
