This is my first visit and wow, this is a community favorite. The place is super busy and reservations are accepted. The decor is very unique and very comfortable. Outside seating is more spacious than inside. The noise makes it important to ensure any customization is clearly understood by your waitress just in case your order isn't repeated to avoid eating pork instead of turkey bacon. The menu items are mostly specific twist on traditional items opposed so be sure you like their flavor before centering your entire meal on their twist (for example a Southern omelet contains collard greens that are sweet and if you don't know that and you're thinking all Southern collards are the same you will be disappointed). Same applies to grits, be sure to ask about the ingredients and flavor as some aren't keen on milk creamy grits with a slight sweetness. Next up the kids meal menu, be sure to ask what constitutes a drink and don't assume it's hot chocolate and not be told and get a receipt that shows a separate charge for a hot chocolate that costs nearly the same as the kids meal. Again, this is outside and inside seating be sure to pick the place that gives you the amount of space needed for your comfort. The food is very fresh, and the chai latte is one of the best I've had.

I was recently in Gainesville and stopped off at the Flying Biscuit for lunch. It was fairly busy but we were able to get a booth. Our waiter was very friendly, however it did take over 30 minutes to get our food, but again, it was fairly busy while we were there, but overall the service was good. For my lunch, I tried the Country Egg Benedict. This is a split biscuit topped with 2 eggs, 2 chicken sausage patties and chicken sausage gravy. It was pretty good if you are a fan of biscuits and gravy. It also came with one side, and I chose the potatoes. They were not bad, a little on the salty side, but overall I liked what I ordered. My wife ordered the California Dreamer which is the avocado toast that has goat cheese and tomato in it, a biscuit and grits. She liked the avocado toast, but said the grits were the best she has had (and she loves grits). I tried them and I agree, the grits were very good and very creamy. Finally, my niece ordered the High Flyer, which 2 eggs, chicken sausage and an oatmeal pancake with peach compote. She enjoyed everything she ordered. Overall, I would say give this place a try, they have a unique menu, and it's a great place to go if you love breakfast!

So they’ve done it again. The Hot Dirty Bird is probably the best way I’ve ever enjoyed chicken and waffles. House made gravy with a nice mild buffalo sauce. The runny egg yolk melds perfectly with all three to form the ultimate savory topping for a waffle. Visually scary, but amazing to the palette. The chorizo in the Three Amigos was perfectly seasoned and not very oily while still avoiding being dry. One should note they are served in a traditional soft corn tortilla so make sure that’s something you enjoy. Sauces were served on the side by default so you can experiment with the flavors how you like. Honestly underrated- the Grilled Mac n’ Cheese. Like nothing else I’ve ever having claimed to be mac n cheese. A must try. The “moon dusted” potatoes were fine. A house made seasoning blend on home fries. They were crispy enough but I’m biased against home fries so I will leave that up to the higher powers to say if they’re good or not. Also Hailey was an amazing waitress who was always on the ball practically always one step ahead of us.

Had an Amazing Breafast on 1-22-19. Ordered the Piedmont Omelette with their famous Grits and Biscuit. I decided to use Butter and Apple Butter on the Biscuit and when I took my first bite I was in Heaven. It was almost like I was eating Apple Pie! The staff was wonderful too, I wish I had gotten the name of our waitress but she was one step ahead of us the entire time. I was on a tight schedule this day because I had to be to work across the street withing 45 minutes of our arrival and was concerned we were pushing the limit, but the food was quickly delivered after ordered! I had time to comfortably (not rushing) eat and yet still get to work on time across the way. If I could recommend any adjustments to their day to day, it would have the waitress staff outside be a little more attentive to customers who are arriving and waiting to be seated in the outdoor area. We were confused and assumed we should wait by their Daily Special menu board. However after 2-3 awkward minutes and 2 staff member tending to their own patrons, we decided to step inside their front door to the Hostess and question where we were supposed to go to be seated outside. Perhaps something I writing on the Daily Special board, or sign specially asking patrons to go inside to be seated? Looking forward to our next visit and holding high expectations for service and food quality along with expedited food delivery after ordered that mirrors this visit! (P.S. I should have created this review same day of service but life got in the way. Better late...

While waiting for a waitress to clear a table outside, she told us to go inside and grab two menus and two sets of utensils. She didn't ask us to. She said, "What you have to do is..." No one else sitting outside was told to do this. In fact, when the waitress told us this other patrons were looking at us as if they were waiting on me to react to her demand that I essentially do what she and others on the waitstaff are paid to do. A complaint ultimately reached the manager and she said that everyone who sits outside is required to do that. Uh...no. There were two people (two white females) who were seated minutes before us and they were not required to get their own menus and utensils. A hostess(?) brought those items to the table. There was actually a couple who got seated literally in front of me (a white male and a white female) after us and they were not required to get their own utensils and menus. Someone also brought it out to them. I guess the waitress took one look at me and automatically thought that I did not speak English and did not know any better, and made her think "subservient". Hmm...I wonder why... The manager did not seem to care either. She kept going on about how other people had "pagers"...? I don't know what that had to do with being the only one told to get my own menus and utensils. For a franchise that participates in interstate commerce they sure are blatant about their racial...
