Bengong's Tea — Restaurant in Gaithersburg

I really love Ben Gong's tea. Especially all the Oolong variations. And if they had better service, I would have given them 5 stars.

Whenever we come here, I always go for the Oolongs. They also have some great fruit and cheese teas! The tea is definitely brewed fresh and just really high end quality. Prices are reasonable for the quality that you get.

The shop is super tiny so when it's packed, be prepared to wait in line outside or in the restaurant next door that they are connected to.

The service though needs work. They are extremely rude and dismissive. You kinda have to yell at them to get help, which I hate to have to do. Otherwise you could be standing there for an hour, and they would continue to ignore you then claim they are so busy. Once they had us waiting for 30 minutes, and when I asked why we were waiting since no one else was in line - I was told they ran out of bubbles and won't be able to sell anymore drinks. I don't know why they didn't tell me that when I first walked in. Waste of time. And honestly, they weren't even nice about it. They just yelled it at me.

So as much as I like their Oolong, I drive the extra distance to other shops...

Watered Down Milk Tea AND Unsanitary Practices I’m very disappointed with my recent experience at Bengong’s Tea in Gaithersburg. I ordered the Osmanthus Green Tea with fermented rice that comes with crystal jelly, but they forgot the crystal jelly in my first drink. When I brought it up, they offered to take the same drink back and add the missing topping. I declined because of hygiene concerns and politely asked for a new one to be made.

The second cup was completely watered down, with very little flavor and barely any toppings. It didn’t taste anything like what I’ve had at other Bengong’s locations. I pointed this out and mentioned their satisfaction guarantee, but instead of making a fresh drink, they gave me excuses.

In the end, they took my original drink and just added the fermented rice to it. This felt careless, unprofessional, and showed a clear lack of regard for customer concerns and hygiene.

Overall, I left feeling unsatisfied and frustrated. The service was dismissive, the quality was disappointing, and the way my concerns were handled was unacceptable. I won’t be coming back to...

Don't order bubble tea here! The sizes are much smaller than all the other bubble tea places in the area and it's the same price. Lately too, this place has gotten even worse! They give you a whole cup of boba and you literally get a few sips of juice! The bubbles are literally all the way to the top of the drinks. It is awful! I took a picture of it. It was such a waste of money. I ordered several drinks from them for an girl's night I was having and there was no juice, it was all boba pearls to the top of the cup. I literally only got maybe four tablespoons of juice in each drink! it's ridiculous! There are far better bubble tea places out there than this one. I will never order from this one again. I rarely leave reviews on Google. I have left maybe 5 reviews on restaurants on Google in 10 years, but this was so frustrating and ridiculous that I had to...
