It is rare for me to find nothing good to say about a buffet restaurant. Normally, they have at least a few items that are hot, well-prepared, and made from quality ingredients. Sadly, EVERYTHING I saw and tried at Hibachi Sushi Supreme Buffet was terrible.
Don't let the pictures of the clean dining room and bountiful heaps of colorful food fool you. Indeed, the clean dining room is about the best thing here. As for the buffet...oh, where should I start??
BTW - I'm attaching some pictures that show what I encountered. I apologize if some of them are a bit gross, but I literally needed to spit some of this food out.
First, I paid $22 for the dinner buffet and a drink. The lady at the counter up-sold me another $5 from the advertised $12.99 lunch buffet. I realized afterwards that the $2.99 drink was really for nothing more than soda or tea. There was supposed to be a lot of really nice seafood and meat. Instead, there really wasn't much of any of that. None of the exotic fish or shellfish were present. Also, I got the impression that everyone around me paid the regular $12.99 and was eating whatever they wanted. (I asked the host how it worked and gave me this clueless answer. It was obvious that nobody was enforcing the lunch/dinner options.) So, from the start the extra $8 I spent was for nothing.
Secondly, if you like your food hot, this isn't the place for you. By this, I don't mean spicy...I mean not cold! I tried about 15 hot foods there. They all ranged from lukewarm to cold. I think the heaters in the soup kettles burned out. They seem to like to heap piles of stuff onto the buffet tables, but the heat lamps and steam bases don't seem to keep anything hot. The worst thing was were all of the breaded, sauced Chinese entrees. I found myself chewing through congealed, tough, soggy breading into tepid or cold meat. Even the rice from the steamer wasn't hot! The wings, chicken skewers, and dumplings were cold, chewy, and greasy.
Thirdly, they seem to use/reuse a lot of old ingredients. I found this element at every phase of the meal. The hot (actually lukewarm) and sour soup was accompanied by a basket of the usually-crunchy soup noodles. Unfortunately, these noodles weren't crunchy. They were badly stale and even hard to bite through. They made the soup inedible. I also had some breaded, fried chicken that appeared to have old, already-fried chicken under the top coat of breading. Like nothing I've ever had. It was dry, fibrous, and tough. I even looked like dried chicken meat. The custard tarts (which are usually extremely fresh on Chinese buffets) were dried out and chewy. The lo mein didn't only taste sour. It had a slightly rotten smell and ended up making me a bit sick. The "BBQ" pork ribs were this grayish color with big chunks of white fat. I cut into one and found the exact same color. I got the impression that it had been pre-cooked a long time (possibly days) ahead and then it was just placed on the buffet. The nice looking desserts were all stale.
Fourthly, this is also not a place to satisfy your meat urges. There were only two types of red meat that I saw on the buffet tables. One was the disgusting grayish pork. The other was this good looking "black pepper steak". This actually looked good, but when I dug into it, I discovered that it was made entirely from some kind of sinewy, gristle-laden cut that was so tough that the chef's cleaver didn't even cut through it when he was prepping the meat in the kitchen. (Most of the strips were still connected to each other through that stubborn muscle tissue.) I gave up after having to spit out three mouthfuls. No matter how much I chewed, I couldn't get it to the point that I could safely swallow it. The freshest red meat seemed to be the beef on the soup and stir fry bar, but after tasting what was on the buffet I dreaded the thought of trying those. Oh, yeah....DO NOT EAT THEIR DUMPLINGS. Not only are they cold and chewy, but they are filled with some sort of dense, chewy, foul-smelling...
Read moreThat wicked witch at the front desk accused me of petty thievery! I was appalled at the level of misanthropy & utter disdain shown for a paying customer (a soup kitchen would know better). It began with her disgust for my umbrella that I had placed on the front desk counter. She shooed it away with a rude hand gesture and wanted me to hold it in my hand instead, all out of the blue (how unnecessary & juvenile). I asked her curiously what was wrong with placing a closed sun umbrella on the counter while I reached out for my wallet? She only quipped, "Drinks or no drinks?" And I proceeded to pay handing her a Benji. She gave me my change back, and as I began to walk towards the seating area, she quickly vanished. I put the coins in the coin pocket of my wallet (I never count them) and began counting the bills, which to my surprise totaled only 65 bucks for a 13.77 receipt. I quickly walked back to the desk while re-counting, but she was nowhere to be seen. So I waited and she came back a few moments later. I told her she had short-changed me, but she belligerently denied that and asked me to check my pockets! Why would I check my pocket in full view of all the patrons, and what are you insinuating? What kind of customer do you think I am? I was just mortified! To which she replied that the cameras see it all! I was utterly flabbergasted at her hubris! I have never been treated that way! I was like, I want you to check the cameras! She casually goes in to do so while constantly mumbling and comes out for a jibe or two occasionally. Then, very nonchalantly heads back to the desk and proceeds to return the rest of my change as if nothing had happened. At that point, I felt so insulted that I asked for a refund so I could just leave. She quickly agreed (almost enthusiastically so) and I handed over the bills she had returned initially. And instead of any apology (this was all done on purpose by her; I didn't see any regret in her eyes), here came another casual jibe. Where are the 23 cents? See how YOU forget things? Yes, those coins in my wallet's coin pocket! I swear to God I wanted to punch that evil witch in her face, and I'm an utmost gentleman to ever even have felt that way towards a woman! This woman embodies true misanthropy and hatred of humans & utter disregard for their dignity! She reminds me of that chemistry student who was deported for poisoning his neighbor's baby! Such spiteful vindictiveness over a paying customer's humble sun umbrella? Such caged minds & hearts have no place in a civil society. Keep buying those fiber supplements and GET THAT MONEY BISH! (You'll never have enough to buy class,...
Read moreSupreme hibachi used to be my go to for all you can eat Chinese/seafood buffet before Covid. I noticed that the food quality and cleanliness of the restaurant went down severely during and after the Height of Covid so I stopped going. I felt it wasn’t worth it even though the prices were low, bc I still want food that’s fresh /Not dried out and tastes good. I also like to sit in a clean restaurant environment while eating. Today my family wanted Chinese buffet and I suggested giving supreme hibachi another try to see if they fixed the many issues they had since I last visited. To my surprise, the cleanliness of the restaurant and the food quality was a little better then my previous visits to the restaurant. We came 30 minutes Before dinner began so we Paid the lunch price bc dinner hadn’t Started yet. The issue that I have is we paid to get in at the lunch price and we weren’t told that we had to pay dinner prices once we were already inside the buffet. We would have paid the dinner price with no problem, just tell us before we’re seated versus coming over to us after we’ve already paid telling us we need to pay $4 extra each in order to eat what’s on the dinner menu. The guy/female impersonator told us rudely with mean/angry facial expressions like we were buffet thieves, lol talking to us like we were stealing food or something. If it was that serious, they should have had us pay for dinner before hand that wouldn’t have been a problem. Instead he chose to be rude to customers and Started policing the buffet. I will never patronize supreme hibachi again I have never had that kind of treatment at any buffet ever in my life. I felt like I got caught red-handed shoplifting or doing something illegal. The dinner buffet to me personally wasn’t worth the extra $4 dollars he Rudely asked us to pay. I only tried one item from the dinner menu and it was lacking in flavor. Shake my head...
