Been coming to Dogfish for many years but my most recent visit will likely be my last. Things seem to have gone down hill which is so sad because the food/service used to be amazing. My husband and I stopped in for dinner this past Saturday around 7:30 P.M. and it was a bad experience from start to finish. Wasn't overly busy and when we walked in there were several hostess standing off to the side at the front having a conversation with what looked to be a manager - not a single one greeted us. We were seated and ordered apps as well as drinks and entrees - apps (wings & cajun eggrolls) took a really long time to come out and when they did the wings were burnt to the point of being inedible. Eggrolls also came out burnt - were edible but tasted bad. Apps were sent back and re-made. They were just OK but not great. Our entrees also took a long time to come out - rack of ribs came out cold (only saving grace were the onion rings) and broccoli and carrots lacked seasoning. I ordered the salmon caesar salad which i've ordered for years - the lettuce tasted so off that I couldn't eat it. Salmon portion was small for the price but cooked well. Our waitress was nice but despite all the issues a manager never even came to apologize. Two young servers clearly in a relationship showing PDA while amongst customers which is just not appropriate. Our waitress did give us a small discount which we appreciated. All around not a good experience - they have some work to do on customer service, wait times,...

I have never been so highly disappointed in my entire life. The food was absolutely bland and cold. My friend and I decided to come here for the first time, we saw the burger of the week, the French Toast burger, it looked amazing, so we decided to try it! When the food finally came out, we noticed the slice of cheese, was max 2x2 inches, I was absolutely baffled as to how this was possible and what kind of sane person finds this acceptable? Neither of us did. So we tried the burgers, I got a French Toast burger, my friend ordered a spicy burger with crab meat. We both bit into out burgers and the first words out of both of our mouths were "disappointed". The burgers had no taste at all, I tried dousing it in salt and pepper to save it, but it was far beyond repair. We both ate less than half of our burgers. I have never left a place without finishing the burger, they were that disgusting. My friend had mashes potatoes as a side and I got French fries, the French fries were okay, and the mashed potatoes were cold. Another reason why I absolutely will never come back is the fact that there is upstairs seating, and during the winter, all you can feel is the draft coming in from outside, the place was cold to the touch. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant in my entire life. I should have returned my food and left. Now my friend and I are out $30. I will...

I love Dogfish, yeah I gave the food 4 stars but that's only because it's probably not going to blow you away. It's good food and comforting. I always get the calamari and one of the entrees or sandwiches. Usually it's the salmon, club sandwich or jambalaya, and my friends and I also really enjoy the fish tacos and Dave's Border Burger. If you're a coleslaw fan, the coleslaw is extremely good too and I've really enjoyed the chili.

I guess the main star is probably the beer, and while I'm not the most massive Dogfish beer fan, it's hard to really go wrong. The beers, especially their 160 minute IPA , World Wide Stout, Midas Touch (which I think was retired), and seasonals are really nice to relax with and you can't really go wrong with them.

Review might paint an average picture of the place, but I love it and have been going regularly for a long time. Atmosphere is usually fairly relaxed and the staff has always been friendly and usually the food is prompt. I've never had a complaint, although arguably there have been more misses with our normal orders recently. It's hard to really complain about it, but when it's something like undercooked meat or missing dishes they always make up for it. Service is impeccable far as...

Dogfish Head Alehouse, an American-style restaurant, impressed us with its generous portions and a welcoming atmosphere perfect for family and friends. The dishes are notably large, making it an excellent spot for sharing and sampling a variety of flavors from their menu. We started with appetizers, indulging in pretzels and nachos, which set a high bar for what was to come. For our main courses, I opted for the shrimp salad, my daughter chose the steak sandwich, and my husband went for a turkey sandwich. Joining us, our friends ordered fish and chips, macaroni and cheese, biscuits, and a cheese stick sandwich. Each dish was well-received, highlighting the quality and taste Dogfish Head Alehouse is known for. While we thoroughly enjoyed the food, we did notice that some items, especially the fries, were a bit on the oily side. Despite this, our overall experience was positive, and we found the Alehouse to be a great choice for anyone looking for hearty, flavorful meals in a friendly setting.

Ordered a farm burger and a grilled vege sandwich. The burger is delicious and the sandwich is not so much. The burger meat is local and have good flavor. The avocado and egg put nice creamy flavor to it. Wish they could make the egg little runny. The veggie sandwich is load with sauce and salt. Cannot taste the original goodness of vegetable at all. Disappointed at it. Then in the middle of eating, I also found a piece of grilled plastic. The manager offered a new sandwich but we didn't want it at all. They took this item off from check. So at least the service is nice. The sandwich came with a salad, which without dressing, it is pretty good tasting. The beer is also very fragrant with strong citrus taste in the beginning.

We stopped by Dogfish Head in Gaithersburg for an early dinner on a Thursday and was seated right away but by the time we left at 6:00 pm, the place was packed and people were waiting for table. Good menu selection with great selection of beer on tap. The chicken pot pie and Dave's Border Burger were delicious and good portions. The two entrees plus one pint of Flesh & Blood Ale and a Mojito came to $44. Our server, Andy B, was friendly and attentive. He was knowledgeable of the the menu items and answered all of our questions with a smile. We even had two members of the management stop by to make sure all was well. We'll definitely go back!
