La Villa Restaurant — Restaurant in Gaithersburg

I have driven by this place several times since they changed over to La Villa and have always wanted to try it out - and tonight was the night.

The restaurant is actually pretty spacious. Large dining area when you walk in and two side areas that are equally as large on each side. A bar is directly in front of you and has a seperating wall for part of it. There is patio seating outside which would be great for warmer weather. Good lighting, bright as I remember the last restaurant was pretty dark.

Besides the bar patrons, we were one of only a few tables in the restaurant. We were quickly greeted and seated and our waitress Oneyda arrived shortly thereafter to take our order. We ordered a glass of wine and a margarita on the rocks. Quickly arrived and we then ordered dinner. We also received complementary chips and salsa..

Tonight we had ordered the Beef Enchiladas and the Fajitas Al Carbon (beef). I have had beef fajitas in many restaurants and these were right up there. Very tasty and a good portion to make three decent sized fajitas. My friend enjoyed his Beef enchiladas and commented that they also were delicious. Both meals came with rice and beans. For dessert I had the flan (would had loved a larger portion!) and coffee. Also pretty tasty. Overall I thought the pricing was pretty good compared to other restaurants.

This restaurant is spacious. The tables had a great amount of space between them, so you did not feel cramped. It appears to be a great place to have large parties or celebrations. The main dining area also appeared to have a screen (apparently used for karioke) and therefore you could also do business meetings there.

It was my first time and will be my LAST time and will not recommend anyone this establishment. I came here last weekend. They wouldn't let me in because the bouncer or security guard whoever he was said they're not letting anyone in anymore. It's strange because they let my friend in 10 minutes before I got there. They just looked at my ID and told me that. Then, he told me after they stopped letting people in. It's weird because they don't close until 3 AM. It was only 2 am. My friend already ordered a drink for me and had to drink it. If they don't let anyone in they should change the hours on google. Everyone don't come here on weekends past 2 AM. Their hours are wrong. I've read the negative poor reviews that they treat non-hispanics customers unfairly. Also, they're not LGTBQ friendly according to the reviews. They didn't give black people any chips and salsa because they were black and gave Hispanic people salsa and chips. This place is sketchy.. They let my friend in and he's latino. If I can give this place 0 stars I most definitely would. Just literally wasted 30 mins sitting outside waiting to be asked if we even wanted drinks. We didn't even get that much. A guy was the waiter assigned to the outdoor seating area passed by us like 7 times never asked us what we wanna drink, order or anything at all. Could spent my time at another restaurant and actually eaten food. We even said excuse me as he was passing by right next to us and he just continued on. Absolutely Terrible!!!!!!! The worst part is IT WASN'T EVEN BUSY!!!! I'm so annoyed this just happened and i had to write a review right away. Terrible! Terrible! Now reading the reviews to see if we were the only ones i see a comment of someone saying the need new waitresses which they do and the owner replying they doubt that... this place is just beyond me at this point smh
