Sabor Azteca — Restaurant in Gaithersburg

I ordered a torta lateish tuesday night after finishing up some volunteer work nearby, and was hangry. They made my order pretty quickly, were courteous when I came in to pay and was slightly disoriented. The torta was the size of my head and delicious, if I hadn't eaten all day I could have made it stretch two meals. I wish there was more filling though, it was a 2/3 bread ratio to 1/3 filling/sandwhich fixings. Be warned that google maps takes you into an empty back lot of different businesses near Sabor Azteca. The person at the register is always really nice and informative. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in what they do here. I have enjoyed everything I've had from the tacos, quesadillas and the tortas. The flan is amazing and I love that the barbacoa is lamb not beef. My partners go to is Al Pastor and it has a really great char to it. You can taste the difference in the ways the different items are cooked and I appreciate that. Most authentic Mexican food in Maryland. You can go to the big chains like Uncle Julio's but the taste will not match the authenticity of Sabor Azteca's. Every bite is filled with flavor and you can get good tasting Horchata here to go with your tacos, enchiladas, sopes, flautas, tortas, chilaquiles along with their delicious soups like Pozole and Pancitas!
