Bamboo Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Galax

10/2024: Possibly the best of the three Chinese restaurants in Galax in terms of the food tasting and looking the way I like. Though that isn't really saying much. They use real Chinese vegetables and spices. Generous portions and reasonable prices except for the limited selection of overpriced drinks. I always order steamed rice and maybe half the time they substitute rather oily fried rice. But at least it is not full of peas, carrots, and egg. Egg rolls about three stars. This is primarily a takeout place but they do have a few tables for dine in. Not really set up for dine in and they don't seem very happy to see dine in customers. We ordered takeout from the Bamboo Garden several times and have been pleasantly surprised each time. The food is fresh and delicious and the portions are huge. Today I had the shrimp with garlic sauce and I was not disappointed. It was mildly spicy exactly the way I like it. The restaurant premises is neat and clean and the staff are pleasant and efficient.
