El Rio Grande — Restaurant in Galax

I highly recommend going to the one behind CVS in Hillsville VA instead, but due to the fact I live closer to NC I almost always eat here or get take out at the Galax location at least twice a month.

Every single time, the order has either been messed up or we’ve paid for extra of something & never got it.

This time when I called in my order the girl kept sighing, huffing & puffing asking if that was all.

When I finally got home to eat my food - it all had the same Salty Taste. You literally can not distinguish the taste between the beans , goat cheese, rice, shrimp or tortillas.

I can’t explain how bad it was other than to say, It’s like eating a spoon full of salt.

I think the owner should just stick to the one in Hillsville & close this one down. At least the food in Hillsville is always bomb & on point not to mention way better customer...

We went in at 8 pm and were told it would be a 30 minute wait. No problem. Then the server was rude when I asked for a few minutes to look at the menu. I had never been to this restaurant and wanted to check things out. Our food got there quickly and was good. But other than giving us the food and bringing the check, the server never came back. If it was going to be a problem to serve us, she should have said so, instead of letting us wait 30 minutes and then being rude about it. Or at least offered to have us look at menus, while we were waiting, so we would know what we wanted when we sat down. We had always enjoyed Rio Grande until tonight, we were regulars for dine-in and take-out. Tonight, we had to wait too long to order, and the meal took much too long to get to us. The food looked like slop and tasted worse. Our waitress never checked on us, our order wasn't even complete. We told our waitress we were unhappy, she made excuses, never apologized, and had a surly, combattive attitude. We complained to the manager, he apologized weakly but made no effort to make things right. He didn't offer to take a penny off the tab or give us a free dessert, nothing.
