I've been going here for years. And when I say years, I mean over 20. Had the Chicago dog, Original Coney dog, and Mac&Cheese. You can't go wrong with any of their hot dogs. The Coney Dog has a distinct flavor, and the Coney sauce is thick. Never had one that compared. The Chicago Dog is excellent. Excellent service, nice people, even outdoor sitting. The only compliant I have is the Mac&Cheese. It was soupy. I highly recommend to the cook to add just 1 bag of shredded white cheddar to the mix. It will thicken it up and add a more cheesy flavor. Cheap fix and minimal cost to take it up a notch. It wasn't bad, but it needs thickening. And just 1 bag of 4$ cheese could change the flavor and thickness. Otherwise, if you're looking for a hidden gem and crave a good hot dog, I highly recommend Coney Island if you're in Galesburg. MAKE SURE TO TRY THE CONEY DOG IF FIRST TIME CUSTOMER! Next, try the Chicago dog. I'll be back. I'll be a regular. I want to try everything they have. The next purchase is the Nacho Supreme.....Trust me, awesome dogs.....worth an hour drive to eat there....No joke.....Keep it...

Vintage Coke machines line the floors and Coke and Pepsi signs dot the walls. There is even an operating traffic signal near the front counter. The staff is very pleasant and will customize orders. The coney dogs are excellent. Coney Island serves a dish called Coney Mac and Cheese which is just as it sounds, macaroni and cheese with a coney sauce topping. A double comfort food. Brats and chips are available. And if you don't think Coke from a bottle tastes better than from a can, you'd better try one of their bottled Coca-Colas. A world of difference. Great food in a step back in time atmosphere. I highly recommend...

If I had to be stranded on any island with a dog, it would be a Coney Dog.
Coney dogs are something I discovered my love for since I started traveling in 2012. A nice hot dog in a bun with meat, onions and mustard. Hot dogs are like burgers and pizza. Almost endless customization. Coney Island has a menu to prove it.
I ordered a Jalapeno Cheese and a BBQ dog. $2.50 a piece. Super cheap in my books! The Jalapeno Cheese was super good, but the BBQ dog was amazing! This place gets a 5/5 in my book. Some people may be put off by theā¦cluttered and dingy inside⦠but if you can look past that⦠you will be dreaming of a return trip...
