The Bar 65 — Restaurant in Galesburg

One of the best nights ever. Made great friends with Sammy and joep and the guys sat at the bar. Everyone so friendly and great company. Add on the excitement of a tornado warning on the tv it made it a great night to remember. Sammy makes a fantastic old fashioned and margarita cocktails. The whole bar was brilliant and has left us with memories to cherish. If we ever made the move from England to Galesburg, this would be our local bar. Red wine and an amazing selection of whiskies. Just go and enjoy. We did. Thanks Sammy for everything. Come see us in the UK when you can and bring joep and Julie as well as your family....

By far the best bar I've been to in ages. Beautiful decor, a comfortable atmosphere, so clean that you could see your reflection off of the floor. The spirit selection was impressive, had the classic brands most are familiar with aswell as specialized brands that are unique and intriguing. The owner Sam was kind and informative, had a passion for his place and what he does. The pride and joy of The Bar 65 tho is their whisky/whiskey selection. They have the classics for most cocktails or drafts, but this bar is a whisky/whiskey bar and it's honestly amazing. 12/10 experience, and this became my favorite...

Strange vibe on a Saturday afternoon. All the TVs were on but the place was completely silent except for the conversations of patrons. It is acoustically challenged because The Bar is a big shell made completely of hard surfaces. The overall aesthetic is good, though. Bad thing: Ordered a can of beer and the can smelled like a bug bomb. It was like someone sprayed Raid all around it. Good thing: The martinis and mixed drinks were great.
