I ordered two item combination plate with a beef taco, tamale, and green chili. The taco meat was ground beef. A bit on the greasy side for my taste but it was edible. The Mexican/Spanish rice had too much spice. The refried beans was spot on for me. Save the best for last. The tamale was delicious. Topped with medium hot green chili and it made my meal better.

The price for my plate was very reasonable and i wouldn't mind paying an additional $1.50 - $2.00 if the other things were better.

A side item was also order by someone in our party, chips with salsa and guacamole. Chips were ok. But the guacamole was about a half cup on a thick bed of lettuce in a bowl and topped off with cheese and diced fresh tomatoes. This made the chip to guacamole ratio a bit awkward and the guacamole was good.

The interior was dated and the lighting was a little dim. I know the place has been a part of Gallup and long time, but by now I think a upgrade or two would be nice.

Service was a disappointment as well. The waiter/server seemed to get side tracked a little too easily. He did not bother to refill my drink, which was only hot water. Overall I gave it a 4 star only because 3.7 stars wasn't available. The tamale and beans, again,...

The woman with thick glasses and short hair, that multi tasks as the hostess and cashier and her sidekick, the chubby curly hair lad were very unprofessional. First, when I mentioned we waited for quite awhile for cheeseburgers for myself and my child, the lady with thick glasses stated that the combination plates were quicker and easier to make than cheeseburgers, when I brought to her attention that I witnessed, three young men arrive after us and they were served before us. My child was a couple bites into his cheeseburger when there was a strand of hair amongst the condiments in his burger. We immediately took our ticket to the front to pay and mentioned the concerns to the thick glasses lady and the chunky fellow, after mentioning to the chunky lad about the hair in my sons burger, he said “sorry about that, your total is $29.00” Again, very unprofessional, and dirty. My 7 year old was served raw chicken tenders. Poor girl was excited to eat here and have her food and she bit into it. She ordered chicken strips. The middle was raw, even the waitress agreed with one look from afar. Although our drinks were free and her meal wasnt charged, we waited forever for the free meal they were gonna redo for her. After waiting about 15 -20 minutes we just left. The cook should've took longer the first time than to let us wait longer the second time. I do have proof of the receipt where it says raw but the review won't let me load a pic. This place was our favorite but we are now grossed out.. 11-21-22 check your receipts.
