Avalon Restaurant — Restaurant in Gallup

I spent my childhood raised with primarily Chinese children. The cooks at Avalon remind me of when I was a child. Authentic and real! It only occupies one page on the menu but it is beyond compare the BEST CHINESE FOOD N GALLUP! The portions are sized so the whole family can join the feast. O!! My problem with the other places is the rice is never fully cooked. Avalon serves fully cooked CHINESE rice and it holds the heat for at least an hour. Nothing like hot food to warm your belly. The menu is about 5 pages but I'm stuck on the Chinese...go c for yourself. If Chinese is great; what must the rest of the menu b?? No less...

Ordered and in less than 10 Mins our food came out( huge red flag). The fried rice tasted odd like it was spoiled. The chicken fried steak was okay but the gravy on top was hard like it was made hours ago, I had to mix the gravy to make it look decent. My bread roll was half hard. Prices are very high for the food. Old food + high prices = never eating there again ( not that I ate it just took a few bites ). Idk if it's a Chinese restaurant or Mexican or American restaurant because they serve everything which seemed really weird to me. Wasted so much...

Wow! It’s rare that you can find a spot such as Avalon, being my first time here I was hesitant. As the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover rings true here. Having a simple menu that don’t have you stress trying to figure out what to get (being an indecisive person this awesome), the fast service made the visit even more great.
