Las Islitas Mariscos — Restaurant in Galt

I have been hearing about this place for a while now. My parents have been half a dozen time already, so we finally went to celebrate my dad’s birthday last night and we were NOT disappointed. On a Friday night my family and I are the first to arrive and since they don’t take reservations I went in and asked for a table of 11. Without hesitation and full of smiles the staff was very happy to accommodate, had the table and menus ready in minutes to my shock so I had to run back out and get the family out of the truck thinking there’d be some wait to get tables pushed together. We were seated in no time with a wonderful ceviche, drink orders taken while we waiting for the rest of our party. The food is absolutely amazing. I love this different style coastal type Mexican dishes with so many options it was hard to decide. The seasoning and spices were all on point, even the hot sauces on the table weren’t hot to be hot they were good and full of flavor that complimented the ceviche and the food very well. Service all night was amazing even as they filled up and remained busy, table after table were being turned as we took our sweet time. They even offered to put the cake we brought into their refrigerator until after we ate. Even though there’s at least 6 other things I want to try next time, I do not know how I’m gonna order anything different than the bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with cheese served with rice and beans and salad with an amazing dipping sauce for the shrimp I’m going to be craving that for weeks. Excellent service along with great food makes for a place you cannot beat. A+++...

So...this last Tuesday was the second time my fiance and I had gone there for taco tuesday. She's been there once without me. Everytime we've gone there, we've had their $1 tacos with margarita's. I'm not sure if the 'ritas are on special but they're pretty good. If you like them strong, ask for an extra shot. The taco's are your typical taco truck taco. They too, are tasty, but how can you go wrong for a buck. They also have a bacon wrapped shrimp taco that I'm extremely tempted to try. The only negative experience I've had the two times I've gone, is this last time, I was with a big group. There was another big group in the resturant as well so the wait staff was stretched thin and it took a little longer to get our drinks. But nothing major...to counter the wait, every time they brought me a drink, I'd order another one. That way, I'd be just about done with one as they were bringing me the other. This is an absolute HIDDEN GEM. We have had this type of food from New Mexico, Texas, Cabo San Lucas, and this food compares to The best of them all in Cabo. The entire menu is catered to pure awesomeness. The entire menu appears to be excellent. We tried so many things since this was the first time. The portions are enormous so order less plates if you do not enjoy leftovers. They give you an entire plate just for the sides!!! The beans and rice are almost the way our Grandmas made it!!! The beers were super cold which makes them delicious!!! Complementary ceviche!!! Who does that! Every type of hot sauce for every person.
