I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Los Patrones, and I must say, it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.
Firstly, the service was absolutely horrible . The waitstaff seemed completely disinterested in their job and were incredibly slow in attending to our table. It took forever for someone to even acknowledge our presence, let alone take our order. When our food finally arrived, it was cold and clearly had been sitting out for a while. It was evident that the kitchen staff had no regard for the quality of the food they were serving.
Speaking of the food, it was absolutely tasteless. The flavors were bland and lacked any sort of depth or complexity. It was as if they had forgotten to season the dishes altogether. The portion sizes were also incredibly small for the price we paid. I left the restaurant feeling hungry and unsatisfied.
Furthermore, the ambiance of the restaurant was extremely disappointing. The decor was outdated and tired, and the overall atmosphere was dull and lifeless. It felt like I was dining in a run-down cafeteria rather than a Mexican restaurant.
To top it all off, the prices at Los Patrones were very high because they added an up charge to our bill. For the quality of food and service provided. I felt like I was being ripped off for a subpar dining experience.
Overall, I would strongly advise against dining at Los Patrones. The lackluster service, tasteless food, and overpriced menu make it a complete waste of time and money. Save yourself the disappointment and find a better Mexican restaurant to satisfy...
Read moreI have often found that the little, out of the way restaurants are the best. This one isn't really out of the way, but if you blink, you'll miss it! Los Patrones is a great, family owned Mexican restaurant and at the risk of plagiarism, I honestly think it's the best Mexican food I've ever had. The salsa is spicy without being too hot, and the chips were crispy and fresh. My wife ordered the burrito dinner (ground beef), and I had camarones chipotle. Both were amazing! The burrito was HUGE, and filled with rice, lettuce and vegetables, along with the beef and some beans (?). My wife usually hates lettuce and vegetables, but she said this all worked together! I think it was because it was mostly beef and such. They weren't using the veggies as filler, it was there for taste. She couldn't eat half of it,so I got a little taste. My camarones were grilled perfectly, and covered with a creamy chipotle sauce with sauteed onions. The fried rice was perfect, and the charro beans were spicy. We ordered sopapillas for dessert, and they were so good. Covered in honey, powdered sugar and cinnamon, they were hot and crispy and wonderful. I made my wife eat the last one (most of it), I was afraid I'd burst if I had one more bite! The check came back under $50 and I started wishing we could stay in Galveston another night. Read moreClean, reasonably priced, and delicious food! Breakfast ends at 11. We were a tad disappointed but only till we received our lunch! We had the beef fajita tacos on flour - delicious! Great flavor and big chunks of meat. We shared snd were full. The small queso and guacamole aren’t tiny. We had more than enough for two. Loved the thin, homemade flour tortillas! Guacamole was freshly made. Chips were toasted and the salsa verde was awesome but too spicy for me. We had tea and water but saw some huge micheladas being served on our way out. We’ll go again for breakfast. Very clean, bright and inviting. Annie was one of our two waitresses, both impeccable with timing and refills on tea, water & chips. Go see them! 8/18/24 we went for breakfast! It was great except they had no bacon! We like to add a side order and split it to add crunch. They were fresh out and it was only 10 am. I had Huevos Rancheros and Husband had Migas. Large portions of refried beans and potatoes on the side. Thick flour tortillas- delicious! Very reasonable prices. Fresh hot...
