I came for the beef tips but they weren't available today. So for 2 people and having spent $55, we got a lot of food- fish, chicken tenderloins, shrimp, mac & cheese, yams, rice & gravy, cornbread & kool aid! So while everything was fresh & hot, the rice & gravy was very room temperature. However I'm not one to complain unless something is really really wrong. So I ate it anyways, I just wish it would had at least been warm. That's my only complaint. Everything else was really great! As for the kool-aid, we had 2 options: Grape & lemonade- we got the grape- it was probably the 2nd best Kool-aid I've ever had! (The 1st best Kool-aid goes to Willie P's BBQ & Fish Soul Food in Lufkin Texas) The 2 men working at the establishment were both very nice & friendly! Both very welcoming! We were greeted and checked on! I really love how we were able to get up and get refills as needed! The ketchup bottles were all full, so we didn't have to struggle there, unlike at most places where all the bottles are empty. There were 2 rooms so there's plenty of seating. The women's bathroom was very nice and clean! And the toilet paper wasn't cheap and thin- it was good quality toilet paper! The decor in the bathroom is nice, it has a R&B soul feel to it. Would I ever come back or recommend this place? Yes on both! Definitely 4.9 outta 5...
Read moreI don't have enough good things to say about Soul2Soul. We walked in 30 minutes before close, and the cheerful owner and her staff assured us they didn't mind at all ("That's what we're here for!"). My husband and I ordered almost exactly the same thing -Meatloaf, Mashed Spuds, and our choice of 2 sides. Food was served very quickly and was steaming hot. We were so busy chatting with the owner - she's a lovely lady - that we almost forgot to eat.
But let me tell you...when we tried everything we were astonished and ecstatic. Those are some seriously good eats. I live in Atlanta, and I'm telling you I've yet to find a soul food restaurant in GA as good as this one. 8 hrs later, I'm still thinking about what an awesome experience Soul2Soul is. Incredible food and great company. We will definitely be back...and we also may give up on finding anything close...
Read moreWe are in Galveston for an event and wanted to support a black owned restaurant and if you know Galveston there aren't many. After carefully reviewing the menu and reviews, we chose Soul to Soul restaurant and are soo glad we did!
Unfortunately, we dove into the food w/o taking pics but when I tell you I ate the plate...I ate!! Hubby ordered the 2 piece fried fish, black eye peas and cabbage. I had fried fish and shrimp, cabbage and mac n cheese, both came with cornbread and a refillable drink. Every single bite was seasoned and cooked well.
The owner is friendly, caring and a delight to support ✨️. When in the area don't miss this gem, I don't know how we did but we won't pass by it again without stopping in.
Do your taste buds a favor and eat to your delight in a beautiful, clean and inviting space. Love good food? This...
