Ladies and gentlemen, gather 'round as I regale you with the tale of a burger so magnificent, so unapologetically American, it should come with its own bald eagle and a side of freedom fries. I present to you: the #2 Bacon Cheese from Big Bun Drive In in Boise, Idaho.
Picture this: a quarter-pound beef patty, sizzling on the grill, its juices creating a symphony of mouthwatering aromas. This isn't just any patty; it's a succulent masterpiece that makes other burgers question their life choices. As it cooks to perfection, the patty is adorned with a generous slice of melted American cheese, oozing over the edges like a cheesy lava flow of deliciousness.
But wait, there's more! Just when you think this burger couldn't get any better, enter the crispy bacon. Not just any bacon, mind you, but thick-cut slices that have been cooked to a perfect crunch. These strips of porky heaven are laid atop the cheese, adding a smoky, salty kick that could make a vegan reconsider their life choices.
Now, let's talk buns. This burger is cradled between two halves of a bun that's the Goldilocks of bread: not too soft, not too hard, but just right. It's got a slight crispness on the outside, a pillowy softness on the inside, and a buttery flavor that ties the whole ensemble together like the rug in "The Big Lebowski."
As you take your first bite, you're met with a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. The savory beef, the creamy cheese, the crunchy bacon, and the fresh lettuce all dance together in a culinary conga line of delight. The special sauce adds a tangy zing, a secret recipe that whispers sweet nothings to your taste buds.
But be warned, dear reader: this burger is not for the faint of heart—literally. It's a decadent indulgence that laughs in the face of calorie counters and scoffs at the notion of moderation. It's the gastronomic equivalent of jumping out of an airplane while chugging a milkshake: exhilarating, a bit reckless, and utterly unforgettable.
In conclusion, the #2 Bacon Cheese from Big Bun Drive In isn't just a meal; it's an experience. It's a love letter to all things indulgent and delicious, a testament to the fact that sometimes, you just need to treat yourself to some all-American, heart-stopping goodness. So, loosen your belt, grab some napkins, and prepare to embark on a burger adventure of epic proportions. Your taste buds will thank you, even if your...

Big Bun has done it AGAIN! Anytime I get a craving for a quick burger, this is the only place I go. Speedy, superb service and damn great food.
I was FIENDING for a burger omw to the airport and the Smashburger was not going to cut it. I pulled into Big Bun and within 5 minutes had placed my order, paid and gotten my food. With that kind of speed I was skeptical about my grub. Was this someone's mistaken order? Has it been sitting there for a while? Nah. They're just freaky fast.
This day I tried the #4 Pastrami Burger (Pastrami swiss burger with mayo, lettuce, tomato and red onion, side of fries and fry sauce, $10.79 for the combo). This one's gotta be my favorite one get. HOT, flavorful pastrami with a beautiful smoky flavor, combined with a fresh, juicy burger patty and fresh veggies, add a little fry sauce with each bite and BAM you got a meal straight out of heaven. Fries were amazing as always. No shake this time, I settled for a Sprite. 10000% coming back.
2020: Holy cannoli this place has the best darn milkshake in the great state of Idaho! I grabbed a cherry chip to go with my meal on the way out of town and was mesmerized the entire time. With every sip I was overwhelmed with chunks of cherry candy pieces. It tasted exactly like a DQ Dilly Bar in drinkable form. I can't even get myself to try other flavors because I know this one always takes me away. The food is good too. I forgot what my meal was judging by my photo it was a double patty. I shared with my husband and along with the fries it was plenty to keep up full for several hours. I also appreciate the double side drive-thru. I had visited during the rush hour and although I began behind 6 cars I probably waited around 10 minutes was all before I was going HAM on my delicious burger. Absolutely fabulous, wonderful food and...
Read moreI've been eating at big bun since I was a small child. It was a treat to get big bun and we always looked forward to it. Today, I am extremely disappointed with the service, the price, and the quality of the food.
When ordering I asked for a meal and was told they no longer offer meals but I can buy fries and a drink separately with no discount for it. So we ordered everything separately. Little annoying, but the thing that got me upset was I ordered tots, and even I got to the window the lady read back fries.... I corrected her and she seemed to have fixed it.
We waited a long time, more than 20 minutes for two burgers, two tots, and two drinks, plus one Boston. While waiting I noticed a sign that said "No surprises!" it was informing customers that the prices on the menu would be going up soon because of the increasing cost of ingredients. "we will not sacrifice quality."
My burger meat was dry and tasted old/reheated. And my "large" tots cup was 2/3 full and cold. About the only thing that tasted good was the coke and the Boston. My order was expensive even without the coming soon rising prices. And I expect better quality for what I paid. I also think they gave me a skimpy order of tots because the lady at the window screwed up and had to change the order last minute.
You want a suggestion? Go to McDonald's and get their value menu burgers and then get your Boston milk shakes after, on your way home. You'll spend less and it will taste better. Be prepared to wait though because I think the average wait time must be between 20-40 minutes. Seems like it is the average judging from the other reviews I've been...
