Best Mongolian in the Treasure Valley. I’ve tried them all. Most feel like you are in someone’s home, and they keep watching you to make sure you don’t take anything.
What I like about Mongolian Bistro is that their “bowl stuffing“ policy is clearly spelled out on the table. The staff is welcoming, warm, and friendly. The environment feels like you are in an actual restaurant, not a room that’s lit up for surgery.
Great decor, comfortable booths, and wonderful background music. It’s a great environment if you’re trying to make a good first impression.
How about the most important part, the food? Wonderful choices and options. I counted over a dozen sauce options. Who doesn’t love ginger, lemon, and garlic? Plenty of that, and the other sauces as well. Top it off with some cashews are peanuts, and you have an amazing meal. I almost forgot, noodles as well. Kangen Water is served at the table.
The owner couple are usually there, sometimes they’re there with their son who helps out and “manages” the place. Ask for their “success story” - they are truly living out the American Dream.
I’m in the TV about once a month, and make it a pointed effort to spend at least one meal at the Mongolian in Bistro. It’s a no-miss destination, if you’re just visiting, and should be on your “regular spot” if...
Read moreWas not a fan, especially of the type of noodle they use, basically it's a spaghetti noodle, and it appears they rinse the starch out of the noodles, I also noticed that after cooking around 10 bowls of food they didn't have to stop and scrap and clean the grill cook top. Not exactly sure what was going on, but this place was no where near as good as other Mongolian places that I have ate at. The service was very good, and the place appeared to be well kept, just wished the food was better.
Follow up to response: Thank you for your response, and I want to make it clear that in no way in my review was I suggesting that there were any issues regarding the cleanliness of your restaurant, and I am sorry if my comment came across in that manner, as this was definitely not the case. The reference I made to the grill cooktop was my observation that food was not sticking to it like other grills had, that I had eaten at, where the chef would have to stop and scrape food off from time to time in order to continue cooking. Now understanding that the noodles you use are wheat egg noodles, the starch/noodle and grill scrapping observation are understandable to me at this point, and I hope this makes since to you as well as anyone whom might...
Read moreI am a fan of this place! I've eaten only at a few mongolian places and this is my favorite one. Why I like this place over the other two: The location. Quick, easy, in and out! The seating-- they have tons here! They can be super packed and still lots of room to sit. Good selection, at least I think. They don't pressure me to add more sauce like the other two I went to... they'll just use water. They say thank you and SMILE... really did you just smile at me and say thank you more than once... and I feel that you really meant it! You don't have to ask for rice. They will offer it and will get your preference (white or brown). When you're done eating you get a little sherbet with your check and your fortune cookie. They have a club card to stamp. Pretty cool. Prices aren't bad.
Overall, I personally like this place-- I think the people that work there basically live there as the same people are always there and I've been there 10...
