We have been coming here for a few years now and with the current owners and crew, the place has never been better! They have made some great menu options that are pretty tasty. The most recent renovations have really brought out a crisp clean look while also keeping it similar to the mountain theme that we love so much about Idaho. We ordered a basket of fries and pretzel bites( full size pretzel cut up) with a great cheddar cheese sauce that doesn't clump up as it cools down. It has a rich flavor that could easily go on a plate of nachos or even a burger. The selection of beers is always changing which makes it great to do flights and engage with the staff and other customers. I love that the place will have music playing as background noise but not so over the top so you can still talk and hear the conversation. The staff are great and personalble, making you feel welcome. Dalton is quite knowledgeable on his beers and the food when asked questions, even during rush hour he is welcoming and allows you time to ask questions and make a decision. You can really tell that the owner Kevin cares for his staff and the establishment as he will go around asking how things are going with both the staff and customers. You can see his passion for his work and the respect for his employees. For a tap house this is a favorite, you can even bring in board games or Dnd ( dungeons and dragons)...
Read moreI’ve reviewed CopenRoss before. I gave them 5 stars & a great review. We usually have great food. Recently im not too happy. Over the last couple of months nobody seems to know how to cut a burger in half. We share it and get other items on the menu to go w it. They have cut it to where half is 3/4 and the other is 1/4. Why cant they cut a burger in half?? Last time was no cheese on it. We ignored these problems even though it was occurring frequently. Today for the first time we tell them not cut it since it seems to be a problem. I cut it at home & guess what.. I notice a bunch of runny pink liquid on the bottom that ran into the non contained potatoe salad. Im like “ewww messy” Assuming it’s dressing because ive never had an undercooked burger from here. We notice the burger is rare. I couldn’t even consider eating it. Sure I could have recooked it which defeats my idea of a quick and easy dinner tonight. I also would have lost the bun & toppings. We have not complained. They are often a little rushy when we order & frankly Im not coming back in and risk someone being mad I complained and do something to my food so Im hitting a taco truck instead. Every time I’ve played nice but this time im asking you to please...
Read moreBeer/ale is good, food is just OK!
We came in last night and enjoyed the "patio" since it was a great 80 degrees outside. The beers/ales were tasty, and they have 60 different flavors on tap.
The service is basic. as you order at the counter and they bring it to you. In no way was the service poor, it's just not "attentive."
Some of the food items were good, some not so good. For instance, my turkey, bacon, and cheese sandwich was tasty, but I requested pepper jack cheese and got cheddar. My salad was fresh and very nice, with cherry tomatoes. My wife ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap, and I tried it... It was really a strong vinegar sauce, so I felt a bit out of balance. The French fries were an odd texture, as they were a bit soggy and a tad rubbery. The potato salad was tasty. but the potatoes were undercooked and chewy. One of our party got the French dip and said it was good (it did look good).
Overall, it is a good place for beer (4.5 to 5 stars), but the food could use some attention (2.5-3.5 stars)... I rated more for the food, as we mostly came to eat pub food outdoors on a beautiful...
