I’ve been going to Cobby’s for a while now. I work with the winery across the parking lot, and stop in every chance I get. Today, I went in and ended up waiting for about 5 minutes because no one was behind the counter and heard me come in. When someone finally walked up, a small line had formed with two men behind me. The girl, her name tag said “Lana” or “Lara,” was incredibly moody and hostile. She didn’t say hello, just asked what I wanted and started making it. That’s not terrible, I work in the food service industry and understand bad days. But her attitude was beyond normal grumpiness, and just out right rude. This was made even more evident when her coworker, Elijah, came out to help with the line. He was so polite and happy, it was infectious and starkly contrasted the other worker. He worked quickly, talking with the men behind me about their days and being kind. The girl, Lara or whatever, didn’t communicate with Elijah at all, causing confusion as to who was next or what order was mine. She seemed to be acting friendly towards her coworker, which is nice, but had immediate and unwarranted animosity towards the customers that was apparent, unfiltered, and plain rude. Love this shop other than this one person and am sad for this awful interaction. Never happened before, but I’m glad Elijah was there to save the mood. He’s fantastic! The other...
Read moreI could say a lot, but want to keep this brief...ish. We had a bad experience here today which culminated in swearing off cobby's entirely. As for the staff service my SO left a review of our experience from her pov, but I want to talk about the food.
I am a Boise native who has gone to cobby's since my childhood(80's). I was okay with losing the punch cards(if you didn't know a college student could get 2 meals for about 6$ back in the 00's), I was okay with slight price increases, I was even okay when I got older and my kids stopped getting kids meal activity bags. The food was good.
But since, I assume, the business changed hands the sandwiches have skyrocketed in price(admittedly still good) I paid 80$ for 2 adults and 2 children under 5. But unseasoned sides and soups and the lack care of the salad bar and the water that comes from perfectly functioning fountain drink machines instead of soda. This place is now a kitchen nightmare.
Finally, I looked into this multiple times and nothing I ordered had butter (or dairy for that matter) on it, but I ordered a pickle which they cut in half for some reason and it was covered in butter from a dirty knife. No one with allergies or anything here, it's just gross. Learn some basic...
Read moreI haven't been back since July 2023 as they forgot an entire sandwich and I was too busy and tired to go back and have them fix the order.
We placed an order today and they forgot an entire kids meal. Admittedly, we should have checked the order before leaving, but settled for calling them about it. They did not answer their phone after multiple calls. My husband left with the receipt to get the forgotten kids meal which should've been proof enough. I called them from my phone hoping they could make the forgotten order while he drove back with the receipt. The person who finally answered the phone stated that it's their policy to show them all the food. So I called my husband and had him drive back to get the food and return to Cobby's.
When he gets there, another employee said he didn't have to bring in all the food to prove we're not trying to steal a kid sized ham sandwich and macaroni salad so we went through all the song and dance for some bored employee's entertainment. Maybe that guy has the missing ham sandwich. We won't...
