Happy Teriyaki - Garden City - Next to D&B Supply — Restaurant in Garden City

This joint used to be the old Dickies BBQ so I'm happy that another food establishment took it's place. It's nice to have more food options in our end of town. Happy Teriyaki is all over the valley so it's nice that we finally have one in our neck of the woods.

They revamped the joint up make it theirs. The set up is still the same. Lots of tables, spacious and it's very bright. Placed my order with a really sweet gal at the register. She was new, she was still trying to work her way on the register. I think she did a great job! I got a couple meals ordered and posted up while they were being prepared.

For lunch I grabbed the teriyaki chicken bowl with no rice and extra veggies. My daughter got the beef happy noodles. Our lunches were bagged up nicely with extra teriyaki sauce, forks and napkins.

The food was hot! I got a good amount of chicken in my bowl. The veggies were predominantly cabbage with some carrots and broccoli. I love cabbage so I didn't mind. I do wish they have drained the veggies out before putting in my bowl. I had an overwhelming amount of fluid on the bottom of my bowl. The veggies were a little overcooked, a crunchier veggie would have been nice to have a differnt texture. The chicken was tender and the veggies were really soft so a crunch element would have been nice. My chicken was grilled nicely and had a generous amount of teriyaki sauce on it! I tried some of my daughter's noodles. They were so hot! You can tell they were freshly cooked. The noodles were flavorful and chewy. She also got some veggies in her noodle box as well. All of it was so good!

I'm happy those folks are around the corner from us. They also serve ice cream and boba which is nice. I don't have to go to another shop for a boba drink. I also appreciate that they close at 9. There are so many food joints in my area that close at 8, that extra hour is nice. I really enjoyed the chicken and I look forward to coming back and trying other items...

We ate here tonight on their second day in business. Everything was delicious and fresh. Gyoza were crispy and some of the best we've had. Tempura shrimp and chicken teriyaki combo was yummy and there's a great selection of sauces to customize your entree. Spicy chicken was truly spicy so lovers of hot food will not be disappointed. Fong, the owner, greated everyone who came in personally and was friendly and so excited to be open at last. Since this place just opened all customers got free Dole Whip soft serve, a really nice touch. The menu is large and we will definitely be back to try many more options. I will not support a business that gorges their customers when ordering through the app or door dash or Uber eats .. charging an obscene amount for delivery fee . And when told by the company that holds those apps to compensate by adding a coupon and remover delivery fee thw up charge. The food by 3 to 5 dollars. Please take this as a hint. 7.99 doesnt make it sound better than 8 bucks delivery. And spending 38 dollars to get 8 dollar discount on zero delivery fee but items are up charges between 3 and 5 dollars per item. No thank you. When using apps you have to be able to take a hit for a few weeks financially but in the long run you bemifit. Get qith thw times folks....
