I go to the Viking Drive in quite often- my family and I enjoy the food and it's affordable so I don't mind when Viking is requested for dinner! Normally they get everything right but the last few times I've stopped by for dinner they have missed the mark. A couple times they forgot to put lettuce and tomato on my cheeseburgers ( which I requested to add lettuce and tomato)- when I got home I opened the bag and took out a burger and no lettuce or tomato so I called them and their response was " oh, sorry about that. If you want to come back we'll fix it." Well I had worked a long 12 hour day ( not a desk job) and I wasn't about to get back in my truck to drive back to have them slap tomato and lettuce on cold burgers, even if they were to remake them completely- I was tired and hungry and done. Since I wasn't going to go back- I got " well sorry about that" again- really? I payed for lettuce and tomato on my burgers but I wasn't offered any compensation towards my next visit!!??¿ Ok, my bad. The next time I went to get dinner there I forgot to ask for lettuce and tomato- so I can't complain- well except for the fact that they burned my onion rings so bad that I couldn't eat them- so I called them and I got the same "Oh, sorry if you come back we'll make you another order of onion rings"- I said I'm not driving back to get another order of onion rings. So I got yet another "Sorry about that." When I stop there it's usually been a long day and I'm tired so driving back isn't something I want to do! So I guess it's another my bad for not checking my order before I drove home. So this time I reminded myself to check my order before I left the pick up window. Onion rings are fine but.,... No lettuce and tomato on the burgers, so I am still at the window and instead of coming to ask me if I need something else- I have to hold up a burger and say you forgot the lettuce and tomato- while they are looking at me wondering why I'm still there. An employee comes over and opens the window and I tell him why I'm still there and hand him the burgers and they look at the receipt for a second and then they add the lettuce and tomato and give me the burgers back and I drive home just a few blocks away. I get home and of course burgers are cold- my bad!!;) If it were any other burger joint I doubt I would ever eat there again but I like their food and I realize that people make mistakes just wish they wouldn't screw my order up every time. Also I like to tip the employees but if paying with a card you can't add a tip ( stupid) so I have to remember to have cash or no tip. End of Rant!!!! Love this place!! Read moreViking has your basic neighborhood burgers, which are better than chain fast food restaurants every time. I normally have good things to say about Viking but today I ordered my usual double cheeseburger with fries and a drink. The service was polite and quick, but when I got home I grabbed the container of fries, then searched the bag for the bulk of the fries before I realized that they hadn't fallen out, they were never there. I thought about calling and telling them but it wasn't worth the trouble. Then I ate a fry, which was crunchy, and only warm. I like crispy fries, but it tasted a little stale. I tried another fry and realized they were definitely stale and probably only warm from contact with the burger. The staleness, combined with the small amount caused me to assume they must have given me old fries by mistake or something (not really sure why they would have old fries lying around). I think it's irrational to get upset about a mistake, but I thought I should tell them in case they are handing out these fries to other customers as well, and maybe go to viking tomorrow to get some replacement fries on the house, since most restaurants replace unsatisfactory products (and also buy another burger). I called and told one of the two employees who handed the phone to the other employee who told me that they need the bad fries in exchange. I'm not going to say I'm mad, but I am disappointed. I'm not going to dig fries out of the trash and drive them down to the restaurant for two dollars worth of fries. It's occurring to me that maybe they gave me a small order, which I don't think is on the menu, but that still wouldn't explain the hard stale texture.
In conclusion I'm disappointed that they have a policy which hinders the employee from making customers happy. If someone tells you your fries are gross, just believe them. I don't think many people are going to go through the trouble to con you out of an order of fries. It's not worth the time unless you're a starving idiot, and if you feed a starving idiot at least you did...
Read moreFirst and last visit. I ordered two milkshakes, one was Blu Razberry. When I got up to the window I noticed the color of my son's shake was purple, I asked to confirm the flavor and the girl said, "Black Raspberry." I told her we ordered Blu Razberry and she proceeded to tell me they don't have that flavor, even though it's listed on multiple menus as an option, then hesitantly offered to make a new one. My son and I both looked over the flavors again and after a few minutes she came back to the window and said, "we do have Blu Razberry, I just wrote it wrong." I asked if we could get a Blu Razberry as we'd ordered, she then made a very runny, poorly mixed shake and put the lid and straw of the wrong shake flavor on the new one. I then asked for a manager and the very rude lady at the window, that claimed to be the manager, impatiently said, "ya, what can I help you with." I asked if I could get a new lid and straw, she took the shake from my hands and said, "I'll wash it for you, so we can save the product." When she returned with a wet lid and straw I was appalled and told her I just wanted a new lid and straw. She said nothing, took the shake, opened the cash draw, handed me a refund and said, "here, this is just easier."
