Years ago, I used to love Burger and Brew. Since it's been quite some time since we last visited, we thought we'd go again. But I must say that at best, the food was mediocre -- nothing like what I remembered. The Caesar salad was just okay, but given that their specialties are burgers, I wouldn't fault them for that. But on the waitress's advice (I was torn between two choices), I chose the Russian Burger. They warn you it's a "knife and fork" meal, but quite frankly the lackluster horseradish and sour cream sauce was so thin it just made the whole thing sloppy. It was quite mild as well, so I asked for jalapenos on the side to make up for the lack of kick I was expecting from the horseradish (I don't like things really hot, and the jalapenos were not that fresh, so fortunately they didn't overpower the burger). The French fries were good, but certainly not on par with places like Red Robin. My wife's fish and chips we're also good, but like the burger, didn't support their website's claim of "serving up the state's best homemade finger steaks, sandwiches, and burgers". That said, the value is there, but the service was about the same as the meal (we were instantly seated and it certainly wasn't packed, so while our server was pleasant, there was no reason for having to wait extended periods of time to get her attention or be checked on). We always like Burger N Brew. It's a cozy, older place. Not the cleanest place in the world, but there is a decent sized menu of typical sports bar options. There are always games on the television. You can sit at the bar, booths, chairs, and even a back room. Family friendly and the kids get crayons and activity guides to keep them entertained. Depending on what time of day you go--you get pretty fast service. Employees just wear street clothes and can be a bit disheveled. A simple polo shirt, slacks, and black shoes would really help matters. We enjoy Burger and Brew and have been eating here ever since I was a kid. It doesnt look like it's been updated since lol so I would really recommend some remodeling, thoroughly cleaning everything and making sure things stayed clean and having a dress code for employees. It's in an easily accessible area with a stop light to help you get in and out of traffic making it a breeze to get to no matter what time of time.
