Way overpriced and poorly trained, incompetent and lazy cooks and staff. A lot of issues with this place and the fact it’s often empty should have been a warning. For the prices they’re stingy and I’ve noticed some shrinkflation going on where something previously included is reduced in size and they now charge extra for the amount that was once standard. Ripoff with their already overpriced items.
Recently I’m paying attention to their alleged $500 reward for leaving a review and notice the date keeps getting pushed back which is shady and unethical. It was supposed to be November now it’s in December. Hmm I wonder if they intend to do a drawing or are just trying to steal your email — they don’t ask if you want to sign up for email which is polite and the reward promise seems to be a ploy to do marketing. To me that’s ick. They need to publicly announce the winner on their socials with their name, photo and them holding the check otherwise they’re scamming people and should be reprimanded.
The food is average and this location seems worse than the Fountain Valley restaurant. I’ve tried everything from omelets to waffles to pasta to bowls to sandwiches and pastries yet am often disappointed. Omelettes here are rubbery and under-seasoned. I had a Mexican bowl once and not only was it gross it was missing a few items (worse than Chipotle down the street). The pies have odd tasting flavors where they’re often not sweet enough of taste dull and the worst crust as if the bakers don’t know how to bake. I expect more from a place claiming to be an bakehouse and the prices they charge. The sandwiches seem to have the cheap cheese not thick slices like the best delis and most flavors are flat but the worst part is the bread which can be stale with a hard crust. My opinion is bread is just as important as the fillings. They also charge a high price for just a small amount of their sides unlike other restaurants. Are many of the ingredients really from their farm or is that a gimmick? Also, if you get the same dish the quantity can be drastically different which is annoying. I’d rather go to Mendocino Farms and get my individual pastries from Urban Plates.
As for the staff especially at the front they have poor customer service skills and don’t provide a good experience. The chain overall seems to hire people that mess up but at least at Fountain Valley they make it right and are friendly. This location is stingy. I hope the manager is aware the cooks at this location are lazy and quantity amount varies while ingredients are often missing — not acceptable for the prices they charge.
I hope this location can improve because if not they may not survive. As I said earlier it’s often empty and my guess is the mediocre food and baked goods combined with high prices and bad customer service make it not worth it. I also should t have to constantly double check my orders since this location always messes up even...
Read moreI took my very picky 95 year old mother for dinner. We were warned by a friend to order in advance, which was key. She had an enormous fried chicken dinner, which while a bit pricey was delicious. We did use napkins to soak up the oil on the plate first.
I had the Fish and Chips, and it was delicious. Ordered my mom's chicken ahead by 25 minutes. So we only had a five minute wait for her food, important since "hangry" is her middle name.
The one downside which basically ruined dinner for us, and other diners, were a family whose kid was literally screaming, laughing at the top of her lungs for 45 minutes straight. The family sat at the farthest end of the restaurant while their noisy daughter was two tables away. Screaming.
We couldn't hear ourselves talk, and she was literally louder than everything else in the restaurant. The staff were young and hard working, understaffed if anything, and the manager should have had a chat with the family about quieting the child or leaving. It was unconscionably unacceptable behavior by the parents. We figured the daughter was 5-7.
I'm the father of two boys, one of whom was "spirited", but we never allowed that behavior. We either didn't go out with them until they showed they could behave properly, or in the case of a meltdown, we promptly took them outside till they cooled off. We had more than a few dinners where one of us sat in the car with one of boys! Family friendly does not mean "out of control" playground behavior.
I suppose it's not fair to ask the young kids working there to be put in the position of reminding parents that they need to respect their fellow diners. Especially with the level of hate and rage in current society.
But it's also not the role of the customers. We did see a large family wait for five minutes to order, discuss the screaming kid, and left, unable to tolerate it. Oh, and they had kids with them the same age.
Parking was a bit strange. You park in the lot, go through a gate that locks behind you, into the restaurant. But... that same gates locks so you have to walk around the restaurant into the parking lot to get back to your car. You can't use the gate. Not an issue for me, especially after all that fattening food, but my mom was in a wheelchair, so I propped open the gate, walked to the car in the disabled spot, drive closer to my mom, and fetched her and brought her to the car. So if you have folks with you that have limited mobility be aware. This was on a Saturday night, so maybe the gate isn't locked during the day.
The food was great, I'd recommend to plan and order ahead if you don't want a long wait. Not inexpensive or fast food, but worth it....

This is the 2nd time I've dined at Amarith Table, and I purposely waited for this 2nd experience, to review in detail, both breakfast and dinner.
Now, I've been to many restaurants over my lifetime, so I've seen, tasted, and experienced a variety of things. Rarely do I feel it is NECESSARY to write a review. This is definitely one of those times!
My breakfast experience was one of amazement. I decided to dine at Amarith because I had 1 1/2 hrs to kill, in the OC. I searched for restaurants in the area, and saw there was a new joint in Garden Grove. Only had 4 reviews, but all 5 STAR! Ok, I'll give a try. So glad I did!
From the get-go, I noticed how clean, modern, and beautiful Amarith is inside, then suddenly, I was confronted by amazingly welcoming staff. I was promptly seated, and served. The waiter, Bill (see attached pic), took my order and happily returned with my food shortly after.
Oh my...the steak and egg breakfast is AMAZING and DELICIOUS! 🤤 It came with potatoes (perfect), yummy eggs, and perfectly cooked steak. (See picture). The OJ was freshly squeezed too, adding to the overall deliciousness of the meal. 100% worth it. Try it!
After my meal, I spoke to Susie (one of the owners) who was the nicest person ever. She explained how Amarith Table gets their product FROM THEIR OWN FARM! This is why everything tastes so fresh! No canned or store bought nonsense here!
Today was my 2nd time here, and this time, I brought my family for dinner. The results? Amazing and delicious! "10 out of 10" was the official verdict! We ordered the chicken nachos as an appetizer, and for our entrees, we had the pepperoni pizza, chicken noodle soup, fish tacos, and I had the "special," which was a 10oz Ribeye Steak, with roasted asparagus, and country potatoes. All were very VERY delicious (we shared), and everyone raved about it! After our meal, came dessert. We had the chocolate brownie and the apple pie! Both were to die for! (See attached pics).
The long and short of it? If you want delicious FRESH food, at an affordable price, and with AMAZING staff, go visit Amarith Table ASAP! You won't regret it, I guarantee it! 💯 🍽 🥗...
